FAQ
To book an experience, you must first register on Sailsquare.
Once you have logged in, choose the experience you are interested in, either by searching for it using the available search functions or by asking our Customer Care team for assistance.
When you have found the experience you are interested in: if you are on the experience page, click on the ‘Dates & Prices’ button to view all available departures, prices, status and users who have already booked; if, on the other hand, you are on the departure page, you can view the same information directly on the page.
In both cases, by clicking on the ‘Book now’ button, you will be redirected to the booking process.
Indicate how many people you are booking for and select the type of boarding: you can choose shared boarding, booking one or more spots on board and sharing the boat with other travellers, or a private cruise, booking the entire boat for you and your fellow travellers. Then fill in your personal details and, if necessary, those of the other participants. In the next step, choose your preferred payment method and payment plan from those available.
Once the payment is complete, you will receive an email with the booking details. From this point, the organiser has up to 24 hours to confirm your booking; you will receive an email notification as soon as the booking is confirmed. At this point, all you have to do is pack your suitcase! 🧳
Before proceeding with the booking, we recommend that you contact the organiser via the ‘Contact the organiser’ button - found on both the experience and departure pages - to receive any additional information about the experience you wish to book.
When booking, you can choose between different payment methods and plans. You can pay the full amount of the booking immediately or, if there are more than 45 days before the date of the departure, pay a deposit and settle the remaining amount within 30 days of the date of the departure. The two-instalment solution incurs an additional €25 administrative fee, which is included in the deposit and is non-refundable.

To do so, after logging in, use the platform's internal messaging system: on each experience or departure page, you will find the “Contact the organiser” button. Click on it, write your message and send it. When the organiser replies, you will be notified by email.
For security and privacy reasons, it is not possible to exchange personal contact details (such as telephone numbers, email addresses, websites or social media profiles) with organisers before booking. Any attempts to do so will be considered a violation of the Platform Terms of Use; in the event of repeated attempts, your account may be blocked or deleted.
Don't worry, after the booking you will receive the organiser's contact details by email. If you have specific reasons for contacting an organiser directly before the booking via channels other than the internal messaging system, please let us know by contacting our Customer Care team.
First of all, let us say that you've had a wonderful idea! Whether it's a sailing course, a relaxing day out or a week-long holiday discovering secret coves... it will certainly be a much-appreciated gift 😉
If you are also going on the trip, you can simply book for the other person as well by increasing the number of participants during the checkout process. Furthermore, if you do not want to spoil the surprise, when asked for their personal details, leave the field for their email address blank.
If, on the other hand, you will not be taking part in the experience yourself, please contact our Customer Care team: we will be happy to give you some ideas and explain how to make a booking for another person.
In general, there are no specific age restrictions for participating in a sailing experience.
However, each organiser has the right to define an age range for participants in their experiences, based on the characteristics of the experience itself. On the experience page, you will find information on whether it is suitable for everyone or if the organiser has specified age restrictions.
However, it is possible that the organiser may consider making an exception: contact them via the internal messaging system to check whether you can still take part in the experience. If the organiser agrees, contact our Customer Care team to have the age restriction lifted and proceed with the booking.
You can use your coupon code during the booking process, when choosing your payment method.
After completing the steps relating to participants and type of boarding, on the last page of the booking process you will find a field to enter and validate the code. Once the code has been validated, the relevant discount will be automatically applied to the total booking amount. If you choose the two-instalment payment plan, the discount will be deducted from the first instalment amount.
Each departure has a maximum applicable discount value, which depends on the total amount of the booking: if the coupon code is associated with an amount greater than the maximum applicable discount value, the latter value will be applied to the booking, but any difference cannot be refunded or used for another booking.
As a marketplace, Sailsquare collects the fees paid by Travellers for bookings of experiences on behalf of the organiser and subsequently pays them to the latter, applying the service costs charged to the organiser.
At the time of the Traveller's booking, Sailsquare can only issue an invoice for the service costs charged to the Traveller and for any additional services offered by Sailsquare selected at the time of purchase. For the remainder, you can contact the experience organiser directly.
If you wish to receive an invoice from Sailsquare for the above services, you must request it at the time of booking by contacting our Customer Care team. It will not be possible to issue an invoice if the request is made more than 24 hours after the booking has been made (Articles 6 and 22 of Presidential Decree 633/1972).
On the page for each experience or departure, you will find information about the costs involved. By clicking on the link ‘What's included’, you will be taken to a section listing the services included in the price of the experience, those excluded, and the expenses - or an estimate thereof - that you will incur during the experience, such as any amount to be paid to the organiser at the time of embarkation (e.g. the ‘Starter Pack’), or expenses to be shared among the entire crew (the ‘Common Fund’).
In general, for sailing experiences, the price of the experience always includes the skipper, the boat, and final cleaning.
For all expenses not included, a fixed value or an indicative cost range is indicated: some expenses can be determined in advance, such as a membership card or the provision of sheets and towels, while others vary depending on how the holiday is spent, such as fuel or stops at marinas.
For further details on the expenses to be incurred, you can contact the experience organiser directly, who will be able to provide you with all the necessary information.
When making your booking, if available, you can choose to extend the circumstances in which you are entitled to a refund of the amount paid following the cancellation of your booking.
As a rule, unless otherwise stated on the experience page, you can cancel your booking within 30 days of the start date of an experience and receive a refund of the amount paid (excluding the cost of any additional Sailsquare services).
In some cases, however, when booking, you can choose to extend the circumstances in which you are entitled to a refund by selecting the Extended Refund Terms: these give you the option to cancel your booking at any time up to the start date of the experience and receive a 100% refund of the amount paid, if you are unable to participate in the experience and the reason for cancellation falls within certain circumstances.
