3 days in Croatia from Marina di Ravenna to Zadar

5 stelle tutte meritate!

Aldo is a very experienced skipper and it was very relaxing to travel with him. He is also attentive, discrete and very kind with our kids. We had very good time travelling in his company. His boat was perfect for our family (5 persons). Thank you Aldo !

Places not to be missed when on a sailing holiday in Croatia

You love the sea, beautiful beaches, and nature? Then it's time to discover Croatia in a unique way! One of the best sailing regions to start with is Croatia, this is because the sailing areas of the country are suitable for both experienced sailors and beginners - both of which can enjoy sailing at their ability and be captivated by the area’s natural beauty. If you are planning a sailing trip in Croatia, you should keep an eye on the sailing areas in northern Dalmatia. The Kornati archipelago - and its many islands - attracts sailors from all over the world, year after year.

Sailing around the Kornati Islands is so popular because of its special landscape, which resembles a lunar landscape. The barren rocks in combination with turquoise blue water and green olive groves form a very unique backdrop. As the Kornati are a protected area, they are largely unspoilt and not densely populated - therefore, at night you have a gloriously clear view of the stars. Other highlights of a sailing trip in the Kornati include the beautiful sunsets, and outdoor activities that are possible such as hiking, snorkeling, and diving - enabling you to forget your everyday life and immerse yourself into the area’s nature.

The Kornati crowns

The scenic beauty of the Kornati region can be characterised by the so-called Kornati crowns. These are steep rock walls that protect the archipelago from the open sea. They are characteristic of the landscape, and it is believed that the Kornati also got their name from their crowns. The cliffs rise far out of the water, some of which rise out of from the seafloor and stand at over 100 meters.

A sailing trip to the island of Dugi Otok

The Telascica Park is located in the southern part of the island of Dugi Otok. The area has been declared a nature reserve because of its unique natural features - a place that is definitely worth a visit during your sailing holiday. In the park you can explore countless small bays and swim in the saltwater lake Mir. This is only separated from the open sea by a steep rock wall and the water of the lake. In addition to its natural beauty, in Telascica you can discover Illyrian ruins and the remains of old fishing villages and churches.

Snorkeling in Lojena Bay

Sailing in the Kornati has become so popular due to its beautiful sceneries, and turquoise blue waters. One of the most striking beaches of the area is Lojena Bay. A sailing trip in Northern Dalmatia is perfect for snorkelers and sun bathers who enjoy sun and a crystal clear sea. This beach - famous for its silver sands - can only be reached by boat. It is located near the islands of Dogi Otok and Murter and is a great trip that you can discuss with your skipper.

Magazinova Skrila

When sailing in the Kornati Islands, you should also plan a visit to the huge Magazinova Skrila rock, which is believed to be created by an earthquake. Here is a great view over the islands of the archipelago.
