About me

Ho lavorato per molti anni al servizio del potere esecutivo dello stato, ma per amore del mare e della vela, pochi anni dopo ho dato le dimissioni per dedicarmi a tempo pieno a ciò che amo: sole, sale e salsedine hanno sempre fatto parte del mio DNA. Nella vita sono molto riservato e non invadente, so ascoltare e al momento giusto anche parlare. In barca mi piace insegnare agli altri quel poco che ho imparato sulla mia pelle in tutti questi anni. Mi piace cucinare, ma non sono un cuoco. Amo la buona musica, ma sono stonato.Non sono arrogante, ma mi piace essere ascoltato, non amo ripetere più di due volte le stesse cose. Non fumo, ma tollero i fumatori, in coperta e non all'interno.

Pratico la vela da quando ancora ragazzotto ho costruito la mia prima deriva, anno 1960. Con questa piccola barchetta mi sono divertito a veleggiare nello stretto di Messina. In seguito ho avuto molte barche, sempre più grandi, sino all'attuale quasi 50 piedi.

Superb week aboard Carmelo's sailboat, a friendly skipper and excellent sailor. With a long experience of sailing, Carmelo has inspired us with great confidence. Thank you for its delicious pasta with wind sauce and for its other little touches here and there. As this was our first cruise, it would have been helpful to receive more info and instructions at the beginning about the boat, cruise, etc. But he gladly answers all our questions. Unfortunately we couldn't do two of the 7 islands but we saw the main ones, and even had the chance to see dolphins sailing with us for a brief while and feasting on their leaps. The nights at anchor were nice. A posteriori, we realize that we should have asked him to moor at the port 1-2 times to be able to benefit from the available infrastructure, fresh water being limited on board. In short, a wonderful week! Thank you Carmelo!!!
