This experience, in a nutshell

This is a week of relaxed island-hopping along Croatia's central Dalmatian coast, sailed on a privately crewed yacht with a professional skipper at the helm and a host onboard who takes care of breakfast, lunch and the day-to-day rhythm of the boat.

You don't need any sailing experience — just turn up at Marina Trogir on Saturday afternoon and a small group of 8–12 guests will spend the next seven nights moving between Šolta, Brač, Hvar, Vis, the Pakleni Islands and (on longer routes) Korčula and Mljet, with a long midday swim stop in clear water and most evenings tied up to a quiet village quay or anchored in a sheltered bay.

The route is built around what actually makes central Dalmatia worth the trip:

  • the UNESCO old town of Trogir
  • the fortress walks and wine bars of Hvar
  • the military-history vineyards of Vis
  • the Blue Cave on Biševo
  • the UNESCO-listed Stiniva cove
  • and dinners ashore in family-run konobas the crew has been booking guests into for more than a decade.

Daily distances are short to medium (15–25 NM); the skipper adapts the route every morning to wind and weather, so two consecutive weeks rarely look the same. The programme has been running out of Trogir since 2009 — same villages, same crews, same unhurried way of doing it.

Check-out: 9:00 AM

Leg 1

Day 1

Embarkation in Trogir. Guests arrive at Split Airport, around 10 minutes from Marina Trogir (transfer can be arranged on request). Welcome onboard at 17:00 with a safety briefing and route walkthrough from the skipper. The first night is spent onboard in the marina — Trogir's UNESCO-listed old town is a five-minute walk from the boat, and dinner is taken ashore in one of the small restaurants tucked into the medieval streets.

Leg 2

Day 2

Trogir to Maslinica (Šolta). An easy first leg of around 12 nautical miles to the western tip of Šolta, the closest island to Split. Lunch and a swim stop in Šešula Bay, then an afternoon arrival in Maslinica with mooring either in Marina Martinis Marchi or at anchor in the bay. Maslinica is a quiet fishing village — small harbour, a handful of family-run konobas, no nightlife — and a gentle introduction to Dalmatian island rhythm.

Leg 3

Day 3

Maslinica to Brač (Bobovišća or Milna). A short hop of roughly 10 NM across the Šolta channel to the western coast of Brač. Lunch at anchor in one of the small swim bays — Lučice or Smrka — followed by an evening berth in Milna or the smaller, quieter Bobovišća. Optional walk to the lighthouse before dinner; classic Dalmatian dinner ashore at a long-time partner restaurant.

Leg 4

Day 4

Brač to Hvar Town. About 18–20 NM down to Hvar, the most famous of the central Dalmatian islands. Long lunch stop at the Pakleni Islands (Palmižana or Vinogradišće Bay) — pine-fringed swim coves with some of the clearest water on the route. Evening arrival in Hvar Town for the most lively night of the trip: restaurants, wine bars, a walk up to the Spanish fortress for sunset.

Leg 5

Day 5

Hvar to Vis Town. An open-water sail of around 22 NM out to Vis — the most remote of the central Dalmatian islands, closed to foreign visitors as a Yugoslav military base until 1989. Anchor for lunch en route at Sv. Klement or Budikovac Bay. Quiet evening in Vis Town with an optional military-history walk and vineyard-to-table dining at one of the konobas inland.

Leg 6

Day 6

Vis to Komiža and Biševo. Morning visit to the Blue Cave on Biševo — a small luminescent sea cave reached by local tender boats. Lunch and a long swim at Stiniva Bay, a UNESCO-listed cove regularly voted Europe's most beautiful beach. Evening berth in Komiža harbour — the most picturesque fishing village on the island and home to the best fresh-fish dinners of the week.

Leg 7

Day 7

Komiža back north to Bobovišća (Brač) or Maslinica (Šolta). A longer reach of around 25 NM. Lunch at anchor in Lučice or Sv. Nikola Bay. Final night in a quiet bay or small harbour with a farewell dinner ashore — usually the most relaxed evening of the trip, with crew tipping and feedback shared in the cockpit afterwards.

Leg 8

Day 8

Return to Trogir. Early sail back to Marina Trogir (around 15 NM). Disembarkation by 09:00. Transfer to Split Airport can be arranged on request. The skipper is happy to recommend a few hours of walking in Trogir's old town for guests with later flights.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.
