From the mainland, the journey continues by car to the ports of embarkation: from France you take the A8 motorway towards Nice/Toulon/Marseille, from Italy the A10 towards Genoa/Savona or the A12 towards Livorno/Piombino; Times vary depending on the starting point and traffic. Vehicles can be embarked on ferries that connect the mainland coast to Corsica; once disembarked, continue on national and departmental roads towards Porto-Vecchio, which is located on the south-eastern coast of the island, with internal routes depending on the port of arrival.

🚆 By train
For boarding it is useful to reach the main stations on the mainland: Marseille-Saint-Charles, Toulon, Nice-Ville on the French coast and Genoa/Savona or Livorno Centrale in Italy; from Paris the TGV connections arrive in Marseille in about 3 hours and in Nice in about 5 hours and 30 minutes, while from Milan the trains to Genoa take about 1 hour and 30-2 hours; from the stations you can reach the ports by local transport or taxi to embark for Corsica. On the island there is no railway line that reaches Porto-Vecchio, so the final stretch is by road.

The nearest airport is Figari-Sud Corse (about 15-20 km from Porto-Vecchio), with connections by taxi, shuttle and car rental; useful airport alternatives are Ajaccio and Bastia, which are longer distances away and connected by road transfers. Regional carriers such as Air Corsica and seasonal connections from major French and European airports are in operation; from the airport you proceed by surface transport to reach the center of Porto-Vecchio.

Porto-Vecchio can be reached by sea from ports in the continental Mediterranean; the operational routes depart from Marseille, Toulon, Nice and, from Italy, from Savona/Livorno; regular operators include companies such as Corsica Ferries and La Méridionale, with crossings varying depending on the port of departure and the type of vessel, typically from a few hours up to over ten hours for longer routes; the trips may include direct landing at the port of Porto-Vecchio or stopovers in other ports followed by transfer by road.
