This experience, in a nutshell

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Castellammare del Golfo.

Check-in: 5:00 PM

Our trip ends here:

Castellammare del Golfo.

Check-out: 8:00 AM

Leg 1

Sabato: Benvenuti a bordo

Meeting in Castellammare del Golfo around 3:30 pm. After the crew has been formed, we will go shopping together to replenish the galley. Once settled on board, if the time and weather conditions allow it, we will set sail towards the famous Faraglioni of Scopello and its Tonnara to spend the first night at anchor under the stars. Alternatively, we'll spend the evening in Castellammare del Golfo, a pearl of the north-western coast that enchants with its thousand-year history

Leg 2

Sunday: San Vito lo Capo

Breakfast on board and route to San Vito Lo Capo (about 5 hours of navigation), navigation along the coast for the Zingaro Reserve up to San Vito Lo Capo, a fishing port that has become a pleasant tourist resort with its characteristic long sandy beach. You will go ashore with the tender for an aperitif, dinner or even just a walk in the village. Overnight stay at anchor in the bay of San Vito Lo Capo.

Leg 3

Monday: Favignana

Navigation to Favignana, the largest of the islands, with its characteristic butterfly shape. The name derives from the construction stone, called Favignana, which is extracted from tuff quarries. Once you arrive, you will stop for a dip and relaxation at Cala Rossa , a symbolic inlet of the island, which offers both rocks and sand set in a sea that embraces shades ranging from blue to light blue. For the evening you will enter the port where moored you can comfortably get off in the main village of the island.

Leg 4

Tuesday: Marettimo

Breakfast and for those who want to visit the Florio Tonnara, the former Florio factory of the Tonnare di Favignana and Formica is an ancient tuna fishery, one of the largest in the Mediterranean. It is here that Ignazio Florio, at the end of the nineteenth century, invented the revolutionary method of preserving tuna, having the adjoining factory built. We circumnavigate Favignana with a stop at Cala Pozzo or Cala Rotonda. Navigation towards Marettimo and arrival in the late afternoon at the furthest of the Egadi Islands, Marettimo. Thanks to its remoteness, the impervious nature of the mountain and the low impact of man on the environment, it preserves a very precious vegetative and faunal heritage, where rare and unique species of the Mediterranean have managed to live. We will go down with the tender to visit the village and if you want to dine in its renowned restaurants and enjoy pasta with Egadi lobster. Overnight stay at anchor in the Bay of the Marina di Marettimo.

Leg 5

Wednesday: Punta Troja Levanzo

Marettimo, a wild island dominated by Monte Falcone, is rich in beautiful natural caves, famous for hiking along the paths that lead to the ruins of Roman houses and a marine reserve. We set sail for Punta Troia to see the promontory and the recently restored Castle of Punta Troia. And make a few swim stops, here relaxation and lunch, for those who want can arrive from the path from the ground from the village to Punta Troia, about two hours. Optional but recommended is the half-day excursion to the caves of Marettimo, which is organized the night before at your request and is done with local boats. In the late afternoon, navigation to the small Levanzo. Levanzo is made up of white limestone rocks that have numerous caves. The Greek name for the island was Phorbantia, probably due to the abundant amount of grass on the island.

Leg 6

Thursday: San Vito Lo Capo

Wake up in Levanzo and, after a swim in the Grotta del Genovese and a dip in Cala Fredda, in the late afternoon you will set sail for San Vito lo Capo, where you will spend the night in the port or at anchor or in the port depending on the weather conditions. The town of San Vito Lo Capo will be waiting for you a refreshing walk of Sicilian life. The heart of the town is Piazza Santuario overlooked by the sanctuary-fortress dedicated to San Vito martyr, patron saint of the town. From here, Via Savoia, quickly reaches the sea, an irresistible attraction for everyone. Via Savoia, very popular especially in the evening, is a destination for shopping and relaxing walks, while in the clubs on the beach young people meet at sunset for sparkling Happy Hour. Musicians, street artists, stalls full of original artifacts enrich the long summer evenings.

Leg 7

Friday: Zingaro Reserve

A day entirely dedicated to relaxation between the coves of the Zingaro and Scopello Reserve.

After lunch and the last swims, we will head to our base in Castellammare del Golfo, with arrival scheduled between 16:00 and 17:00 for refueling. Last social evening in the historic center and night on the boat at the mooring.

Leg 8

Saturday Castellammare del Golfo

Breakfast on board, disembarkation by 8.30 am with a lot of Sicily in the Heart!

Nice itinerary, catamaran comfortable enough and Salvatore was a great skipper. Very professional, scrupulous and attentive to make us live a good experience but always keeping safety first. He was also very helpful in trying to accommodate our wishes and offering us more and more options along the way. Impeccable organization by Marianna who does not leave out any detail and is very present.

The catamaran was dirty, poorly maintained and lacking proper maintenance. Definitely below the standard for services of this kind. Perhaps it is no coincidence that we were left without an engine, fortunately on the last day. Part of the ground staff of Spartivento inadequate and rude.
