This experience, in a nutshell

Rhodes is one of the most visited islands in Greece. Historically famous for the Colossus of Rhodes that dominated the ancient port of Mandràky, today a marina. Since 1100 the island was ruled by the most influential families in the Dodecanese and the Republic of Genoa  In its large historic center you can still breathe the atmosphere created by the knights who took refuge there after the crusades from 1309 until 1522. A visit to the perfectly preserved walls, the Palace of the Grand Master, the Street of the Knights, the Mandraki port are not to be missed. The mosques of Suleiman and Ibrahim Pasha reveal the Turkish imprint of a long domination.

From Rhodes, we'll set off to discover the beautiful large Gulf of Marmaris in Turkey.

After completing the customs formalities, we'll begin our journey through the treasures of one of the most beautiful areas of the Mediterranean, Lycia, where imposing mountain scenery, magnificent coves and sites of considerable archaeological interest alternate continuously. The citadel of Marmaris, born on a promontory under mountains covered with dense forests, overlooks an enchanting beach.

From there we will sail to Enricik , a beautiful bay surrounded by a dense pine forest, where it will be fantastic to anchor.

In Daylan, reached by going up the river on a local boat, we'll marvel at the superb scenery of the rock tombs embedded in the rocks. Near Kyizilkuyruk Koyu, another beautiful bay, you can visit the ruins of ancient Lydae, in a fascinating solitary site. In a delightful setting of pine trees we will meet Ragged Bay (jagged bay) and Ruin Bay, famous as Cleopatra's Bay, where, in an idyllic setting, there are stone ruins overlooking the sea. Wall Bay, Deep Bay: it is impossible to mention all the coves that open up around Gocek and Fethiye where we will moor and take splendid dives. For those who wish, it will be possible to continue browsing.

For those who wish, it is possible to continue sailing to Antalya: it is worth it!

Skipper is not speaking English at all, however he marked language knowledge on his profile . The communication issues made strange situations on the boat. Boat wasn't 100% clean when we were onboarded and we were also not allowed to use the inside showers on the boat (we had no stops in Ports with shower opportunities during the cruise )

I really enjoyed the cruise with Riccardo. He is an experienced sailor and I trusted him, which is very important, especially if you have make a long crossing between islands, as we did. Riccardo took us to a lot of pretty places, and the trip was filled with beautiful moments like eating dinner together with the entire crew while enjoying the sunset in a lovely bay at anchor, or swimming in the sea during the day to cool yourself down. La dolce vita. The boat is well-equipped and comfortable, and the captain goes out of his way to make everyone comfortable. Obviously there were also some misunderstandings, but honestly, that is to be expected in a group of people traveling and living together for a week, and I think all quarrels which arose were handled properly in the end. Overall, it was a great experience. Thank you, Riccardo!
