This experience, in a nutshell
The circumnavigation of the Peloponnese is a very rich itinerary from a naturalistic, historical and cultural point of view, and at the same time little known and frequented by charter boats, even in high season. Among the most surprising stops are the beach of Voidokilia, just north of the bay of Pilos (Navarre), the cape of Metoni with its Ottoman fortress and the island of Spezi, whose seabed houses Roman columns and sarcophagi visible from the surface. Continuing eastwards you come to Koroni, a village that seems to have stopped in the sixties, while with the calm sea it is possible to visit the caves of Diros, a true wonder of nature unparalleled in Europe, and then land in the enchanted bay of Porto Kajo. The route continues towards the beach of Elafonissos, in the opposite cape, considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, to then arrive at the wonderful peninsula of Monemvasia, Hydra and finally Athens, with disembarkation in Lavrio or Rafina, passing through Cape Sounion and the temple of Poseidon.
The itinerary covers about 300 nautical miles, with some longer sailing days, mainly sailing when the wind permits. The efforts will be rewarded by frequent sightings of dolphins and turtles, breathtaking landscapes and unspoiled nature. The stops take place mainly in the roadstead; only in Pilos and Koroni it is possible to moor in the marina and replenish water, while in the other stages it will be possible to land on shore with the dinghy.
The holiday is suitable for everyone: you don't need previous experience, but it is useful to have a pinch of adaptability, a passion for sailing and discovery, good agility and physical fitness.
