This experience, in a nutshell

  • Founded in 1953 as a symbol of peace to heal relations between France and Italy after the Second World War, the Giraglia is now one of the largest sailing events in the Mediterranean.
  • We start from Saint Tropez where we will have two full days of training, June 6th and 7th to get to know the boat with our race skipper Ian Perryman. Manoeuvres, sail changes, hoisting and lowering, peelings, tactics and sailing in regattas.
  • Ian Perryman has 40 years in the British Royal Navy from cadet to officer, 40 years of professional sailing, skipper in regattas such as Cowes, Fastnet, Sidney Hobart, and has been a founder and instructor in the RYA Just Sailing training center in Chiavari (Ge) for 5 years. RYA examiner and teacher trainer in other schools.
  • This will be followed by 4 days of coastal racing, around Saint Tropez, with a return to port in the central marina or Cogolin/Grimaud, from 8 to 11 June. Evening events organized by the yacht clubs including the crew party on the same days.
  • Departure on June 12th of the offshore race from Saint Tropez to Giraglia Island, north Corsica, towards Genoa, arrival at the Italian yacht club. More than 240 miles.
  • Prize giving ceremony on June 15th and party at the Italian yacht club.

  • A regatta and events not to be missed at the beginning of the racing season!

Leg 2

Giraglia Offshore Regatta

From Saint Tropez we will leave for 2/3 days of navigation to the island of Giraglia, and after turning it as a buoy, straight to Genoa towards the marina where the Yacht Club resides.

A buoy is generally first on the Côte d'Azur, and one near the finish line in Genoa, before the finish one.

Upon arrival there will be a welcome from the yacht club and a final party after the award ceremony.

Bring your own sleeping bags, comfortable and warm things for the night and offshore rain and wind gear, plus light day gear, boots and sailing shoes.

On the boat there are 3 cabins with 3 upwind beds, 2 in the bow and one in the dinette and separations in the aft cabins for convenience.
