This experience, in a nutshell

Zakynthos is among the most famous destinations in Greece for its beautiful beaches, the turtles that populate the south coast, the ancient and medieval testimonies. I recommend arriving a few days earlier and discovering this lively town, its Venetian castle, the museum, and the many points of interest on the island.

On Saturday afternoon, after settling in on board, getting to know each other and a detailed briefing, we will all have a galley together to learn what and how much to put on board for the week. We will try to take into account everyone's tastes and desires, but on the boat you have to be flexible: apart from intolerances and allergies that you have to take into account, you have to adapt a little to the simple menus available. Breakfasts are a choice of yogurt, milk, various flakes, jam. Lunches are preferably light, salads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit. Dinners are more substantial, pasta, rice, omelettes, possibly fish. I usually cook myself with the help of some volunteers, but I will be happy to welcome indications and suggestions. A restaurant on the ground will be a pleasant alternative. Everyone lends a hand, but the dishes are mostly the sailor's job, as is the cleaning of the common areas.

The next day, according to the most favorable weather, we will set sail for this week of real navigation. A nice and easy walk to the castle overlooking the town is recommended,

The route will be decided based on the weather and the shelter offered by the coasts on our bow. We will certainly relax and swim in the typical atmosphere of the Greek islands, but the priority will be the safety of navigation and the time available.

We will share spaces in friendship, we will maneuver and cook together, helping and collaborating all according to their inclinations and abilities: a real shared cruise. Single occupancy in a double cabin with private bathroom is subject to a 50% surcharge.

The boat has no air conditioning, watermaker or generator. It is not a charter boat, it has large spaces and comforts and all the essentials but nothing more: however, we can count on the silence and the natural breeze that never fails. It has a large tank for sanitary and drinking water and with careful use, but without stress, we will make the week without having to look for supplies. Each cabin has two portholes and a small fan for excellent ventilation.

Our itinerary

This is a proposal for true lovers of sailing and sailing. We have about 300 miles to go, with an important crossing of over 250 miles and 36/48 hours, which we will face on days with the most favorable weather. First we can stop and swim along the coasts of Zakyntos and Kefalonia, with many beautiful bays and caves to enjoy.

In the crossing we will take turns for those who are available, but nothing is mandatory. On board there is a sailor and a friend of mine who is an excellent sailor. In Calabria you can stop in the beautiful marina of Roccella Ionica, before reaching our final destination of Reggio Calabria on Friday afternoon.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Our first tour. We therefore have no comparison options yet and give a benevolent 4 stars. I would have liked better communication, more involvement and more sailing.

Great week! The group was international and very friendly. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Fulvio takes great care of his boat, which is one of the most beautiful and authentic on which we have sailed. He made us discover lots of coves for swimming and small typical ports for walks

A wonderful experience that I am recommending to many friends. Fulvio is very prepared and patient, he taught us to live properly on a boat, to use the limited and precious resources on board well, taking us safely from Calabria to Greece. We saw dolphins, turtles, caught a tuna and treasured many beautiful memories. Thanks also to Salvo, his very nice helper who prepared a lot of meals for us by a chef!
