This experience, in a nutshell

Welcome on board to Guido, Amel and Banana (elegant sailor cat).

We are happy to present a trip that we have imagined and studied with great care to offer an exclusive experience in Greece on a sailing boat. The journey will take you to discover three rare pearls: Arki, Agathonisi, Patmos, Lipsi - as well as Samos, the island of departure. These are islands in the eastern Aegean Sea close to the Turkish coast, wonderful and still little known.

We know this sea well that we have learned to frequent and love living here for a few years now. That's how we created the perfect mix of ingredients: a beautiful boat, islands out of mass tourism, blue sea, good food, starry nights, sailing and relaxation. Only four guests on board and an itinerary that aims at total satisfaction. Our holiday is missing only one precious ingredient: YOU :-)

Leg 1

Samos Ormos Marathocampos

Arrival on the same day. Boarding is at the small port of Ormos Marathokampos, a delightful small village in the center of the large bay in the south of the island. The village is very well-kept and the people are hospitable. Well-made and always clean bathrooms with private showers are available in the harbor.

You get to know each other and take possession of your cabin, complete the galley, the boarding procedures and visit the village a bit. If you have time and desire, you can reach the town of Manolates, famous for its breathtaking views, its narrow streets and local craft shops (especially metal costume jewelry... really beautiful objects!). In the evening, you usually take advantage of the good food of the tavern on the beach 50 meters from the pier; A simple restaurant with well done and very tasty Greek food!

Leg 2

Agathonisi – The Beautiful

In the morning we wake up early (but not very early!!). Breakfast on the boat, a coffee at the bar opposite and then off to Agathonisi! In Greek it means 'beautiful island', and it is no coincidence. About 20 miles with a SOUTH-EAST route and you reach this small island stuck to the Turkish coast. It starts with a bang! On the east coast of the island we discovered this small bay with simply wonderful seabeds. You normally moor with two ropes on land to be able to get as close as possible to the coast, to see the fish under the boat. The seabed is simply BLUE!! On the opposite side of the bay, which can be reached by tender, there is a cliff that descends into the sea gradually and offers a breathtaking view of the abyss. A mask is enough to see the wonder. It is a place normally full of fish so, if you want, you can try your hand at getting a fresh fish dinner.

Leg 3

Lipsi- white and blue

A good breakfast and off to Lipsi. We will stop in Aspronisi, one of the most beautiful places in Greece. It is a small island – a huge rock a few hundred meters long. Time and waves have corroded the central part which has collapsed creating a gap that can be crossed by swimming or even walking in the shallow water. It is a real postcard, all white and blue and for this reason it deserves a weather permitting.

The small village of Lipsi is simply delightful. White houses, a softly lit church in the middle of pedestrian streets where you can get lost.

In the evening a dinner at Manolis is a must. Perhaps the best restaurant in the archipelago and then it is nice to spend some time at the Ouzeria in the port, to experience the relaxed atmosphere of the Greek bars with the typical colorful chairs and drink a glass of Ouzo ice cream.

Leg 4

Patmos - Sacred Island

The fifth day is still dedicated to the sea. If the weather permits, before crossing the canal, it is possible to stop for a swim in an inlet with a cliff overlooking the sea. There is a tunnel that you can swim through that leads into a salt lake beyond the tunnel. A short sail will take us to Patmos to explore the bays to the south that are sheltered from wind and sea. Usually the tender (the dinghy) is equipped with which it is possible to explore the nearby bays and go ashore to have lunch in a tavern on the beach. Patmos is a "sacred" island, it is considered the 'Capri' of the Dodecanese and is frequented by sophisticated tourism. The Chora (old town) is simply beautiful and should be seen both during the day (all white and blue) and in the evening when it is populated with life. In Patmos there is the Monastery of St. John, a place capable of giving you feelings of regenerating inner peace.

Leg 5

The BLUE pools of Makronisi

An amazing day at the beach awaits us. We go west to anchor in the Makronisi pools. The rabbit-shaped island is famous for forming a maze of islets with crystal clear waters among the bluest in the archipelago. We will go between rocks and shallow waters along a route that we have marked on the nautical chart to be able to return safely, until we reach a small bay - Makronisi - which we call 'the pools' because of the intense blue color! Here you can swim and with the electric dinghy that can be used by anyone, you can explore the surroundings to fill your eyes with a blue that you will remember! A good anchorage will allow us to spend the night under the stars.

Leg 6

Arki – the world of fairy tales!

A fast navigation of about 1 hour will take us to Arki where, place permitting, we will dock at the municipal quay of the tiny village. Arki has a very special atmosphere: 2 taverns, a miniature port with toy boats but above all a garden-bar-shop that you have to see. The elderly couple who run it should win an award for the format. In the garden you can have breakfast, have a coffee, but also buy clothing and accessories of objective quality. Everything is mixed with order in the midst of plants and flowers. From the village you can walk to several sandy beaches or take a walk along the island's paths. There are no cars! Dinner at the tavern with plenty of cold beer. After dinner a magical atmosphere is normally created among the few tourists of all nationalities, thanks to the... the good fresh wine.

Leg 7

Samos - Sailing Emotion!

The last day is dedicated to sailing. We will prepare ourselves and prepare the boat for sailing normally with good winds. You go up the channel between Arki and Marathon until you reach the open sea and start sailing. The distance to travel is about 25 miles. During the navigation, guests will be able to steer the boat, take photos on the right and experience the pleasure of steering a racing boat in safe conditions. It is normally an exciting but not extreme navigation. Return to the port of Ormos Marathokampos in the afternoon. Shower, aperitif and a good dinner in a cool tavern by the sea!

Judò is a commander who is attentive to both the crew and the boat😁. Generous and helpful in teaching. With him you travel safely. His wife Amel is a delightful and tenacious skipper helper, excellent cook and now friend not to be missed. The "Drink Team" 🤩 worked excellently, but the captain had the last word.

Guido is an experienced skipper that leaves no room for surprises. He's fully proficient using sailing apps for navigation and weather forecast to plan routes and happy to share its knowledge with the crew. He's keeping the boat in immaculate condition for the crew to fully enjoy the time onboard and the sailing experience. I'm happy to have met Guido and the rest of the crew on this occasion and would be more than happy to book sailing with him again.
