This experience, in a nutshell

Scoresby Sund – Greenland’s Ice Kingdom ExpeditionEmbark on a breathtaking Arctic adventure through Scoresby Sund, the largest fjord system in the world, located on the eastern coast of Greenland. This expedition is a 14-day voyage.

Route begins and ends near Constable Point (Nerlerit Inaat Airport), avoiding long ocean crossings and maximizing time spent exploring the fjord’s dramatic landscapes.

  • Highlights of the ExpeditionSailing among glaciers and icebergs: Navigate through Vikingbugt, Månegletcher, Sol Glacier, and the iconic Rødefjord, where hundreds of small icebergs form a surreal maze.
  • Trekking and wildlife: Encounter musk oxen, ptarmigans, and possibly polar bears. Trekking routes include Harefjord, Rypefjord, and the Bear Islands.
  • Cultural heritage: Visit Danmark Island and Hekla Havn, sites of ancient Inuit settlements and early Arctic scientific expeditions.
  • Fishing and nature immersion: Try salmon fishing in Fohnfjord and enjoy panoramic views of 2,000-meter cliffs in Ø Fjord.

Our itinerary

We need to move from point od embarkation to start your journey near the Constable Point, walking from the remote airport to the yacht. If weather allows, you’ll sail immediately toward Hekla Havn.

Explore Månegletcher, Sol Glacier, and Vikingbugt, then head to Gaasefjord, where you’ll get closer to a glacier than anywhere else.

Visit historic Danmark Island and the ancient Inuit settlement at Hekla Havn. Continue through Fohnfjord, with basalt cliffs and salmon fishing, then navigate the iceberg maze of Rødefjord using a superdinghy.

Trek in Harefjord and Rypefjord, spotting musk oxen and grouse. Sail through dramatic Ø Fjord, with mountains rising up to 2000m.

Dock at the Bear Islands, including Jyttes Havn, and optionally sail to Sydkap for more trekking.

Explore MudderBugt and Charkot Havn on the western coast of Minneland, venturing deeper inland.

Visit Ittoqqortoormiit, the northernmost permanent settlement, likely twice during the trip.

End the expedition by sailing back to point of disembarkation.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.
