This experience, in a nutshell

That branch of the land of Europe, which turns at midnight, uninterrupted chains of mountains, all in capes and promontories, almost suddenly shrinks, frays and gets lost in a sea that is sometimes blue like a dream, more often glossy black like the wet cast iron, up here in the corner of Norway that divides the Atlantic with the Barents Sea.

There is nothing soft here, except the colors of the light. The choice is between a brutal and bizarre ocean, a land cut vertically like huge slices of cake always covered with luminous snowy icing, and an area of relative respite between the solid and the fluid world made up of beaches and ravines, peninsulas and archipelagos, bends and promontories, rare oases where millennia of humility have built piers, windows and sloping roofs.

Starting from the south Senja , the 10-headed queen, then Vengsoya, Vannoya , the spectacular Fugloya , then Arnoya and Kagen , and dozens of others, all capable of taking you from a white beach to 1000 meters of crystal peaks and crests.

Sailing adventure in Norway: chasing the Northern Lights

I was delighted to have the opportunity to experience sailing in this part of the world. The location and scenery was stunning. Marco and his wife Britta were excellent hosts. They take extra measures to ensure their guests are looked after. Marco was a very knowledgeable and experienced sailor and I would hope to have the opportunity to visit this area and sail with them again. Grazie Mille

Wonderful experience, I would repeat. Seen the orcas and auroras! The eclectic Captain Marco is very competent and helpful, the very active Britta is super welcoming, attentive to everyone's needs. A stay in their very special home for the warmth, sympathy and "feeling at home". Thank you!

Islands at the edge of the world

A simply wonderful holiday, led by a caring and exquisite skipper from every point of view, on a boat that makes us regret the direction taken by the shipyards in the last 30 years, in an environment that has often left us speechless. Marco and Britta live in Vannoya, one of these islands at the edge of the world that we had the opportunity to visit, and they manage to share with their guests all their enthusiasm for these places. I can't imagine better guides! A small warning for those thinking of embarking on this journey: you will want to return to visit new friends, to get your hands on the wheel of the helm, to visit the cozy Haus of Books. Thanks again Britta and Marco, see you soon!
