Leg 1

Portorosa - Vulcano - Panarea

Embarkation in the morning or in the late afternoon, in the marina of Portorosa, Furnari (Messina).

On Thursday morning, April 25th, we filled the galley and took our seats in the cabin and we are ready to set sail: we leave Sicily behind us and with a fresh wind we sail towards Vulcano which welcomes us from its always active crater.

We head to Panarea, visit the most fashionable of the islands and spend the night at anchor in Panarea.

Leg 2

Panarea - Stromboli

After enjoying the classic granita, bath in the gaseous bubbles of Lisca Bianca and stop in Basiluzzo. We head towards the Sciara del Fuoco, on the side of the island of Stromboli where the volcanic materials emitted in the eruptive explosions from the main crater of the volcano accumulate.

The spectacle that Stromboli offers us with its continuous eruptions is unique and thrilling.

Leg 3

Stromboli - Salina

Leaving Stromboli we head to Salina which is the greenest island of the Aeolian Islands and, for those who love the mountains, the extinct volcano of Monte Fossa delle Felci with its 962 meters. It's an irresistible challenge.

Stops and swims while visiting all the most beautiful bays, such as Lingua and Capofaro. Evening on land to taste the famous granita and bread cunzatu at Alfredo in Lingua.

Leg 4

Salina - Lipari- Portorosa

Leaving Santa Marina di Salina we stop for a refreshing swim in Pollara, on the western side of Salina, the natural set of the film Il Postino. The morning is spent diving into the sea, relaxing in the sun and walking on the island, after which we reach Lipari for an excursion to the Castle of Lipari which stands on the sea, in a rich archaeological area. We are in the upper part of the city and from there you can overlook the entire bay of Marina Lunga and Marina Corta and the lower town.

Back on board, we head towards Gelso, the southern part of the island, where we stop for a swim and for a last goodbye to the islands. Before sunset we set sail again towards Sicily. Dinner in a trattoria and possibility of overnight stay in Portorosa.

It's time to say goodbye.

Ottimo Cuoco. A.

Fantastic, 5 Star Experience! I had a great week's sailing with Mario on Catablu. When I looked for a course on Sail Square I was conscious of finding an experienced skipper. Mario is a seasoned sail0r with over 30 years experience so whether there are stormy or calm waters you will be in safe hands. His boat Catablu is beautiful, spacious and really comfortable. He is a native of Sicily and has deep knowledge of the coastline, islands, beautiful coves and the history of people who live there - making for a fun and interesting week. Being on a boat with 6 strangers can be a challenge , so having a skipper who makes evetime feel at ease and develops a cohesive team is important. Mario is sociable, a good team leader and a great chef! Thanks Mario!

Fulvio, Ombretta e Aicha
