This experience, in a nutshell

In the middle of the western Mediterranean, where Corsica and Sardinia chase each other in one of the most seductive stretches of sea in the world, the Maddalena Archipelago emerges in all its beauty.

Located off the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, it consists of seven main islands (Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria and Razzoli), numerous islets and smaller rocks.

Covered with typical Mediterranean scrub, all these islands, most of which are uninhabited, are characterised by a succession of coves and beaches with fine sand lapped by a wonderful emerald sea. Another decisive factor in the undisputed charm of this archipelago is undoubtedly the granite nature of its rocks, which have been shaped over thousands of years by the sea and wind.

To protect this environmental heritage, the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park was established in 1996 with the aim of preserving the magnificent marine flora and fauna that characterises it.

During the trip, we will be constantly surrounded by indescribable natural scenery that has enchanted even Napoleon, Nelson and Garibaldi. How can we not mention, for example, Cala Corsara on the island of Spargi, where a fine white beach merges with crystal clear sea, or the Rosa beach on the island of Budelli, which takes its name from the characteristic colour of its sand, caused by the crumbling of the shells of certain marine microorganisms. Finally, Bonifacio is a must for anyone visiting the archipelago. The incredible view at the entrance to the port, accessed through a fjord with white rock walls over 70 metres high, leaves everyone breathless...

Leg 1

Saturday - Cannigione

Boarding will take place at 6.00 pm. You can immediately store your belongings in the double cabins, all with private bathrooms. We are all in the cockpit for a little refreshment and to get to know each other better.

The captain will take the opportunity to give a briefing, necessary to explain to everyone the rules of life on board, to provide you with some information on the management of the boat and the week's itinerary.

Free evening in Cannigione.

Leg 2

Sunday - Caprera

Early in the

morning we will leave the moorings from the port of Cannigione for a sail to the island of Caprera or Budelli. We will drop anchor at Cala Coticcio or in front of the Pink Beach, enchanting places where we will finally take the first swim of the week.

After a nice lunch and after enjoying the quiet of the sea and the place, we will sail again to the island of La Maddalena where we will spend the night in one of its bays, protected from the sea and the wind.

Leg 3

Monday - Cavallo Island

After a relaxing breakfast, we will embark on a short sail through the infamous Strait of Bonifacio towards Corsica, to head towards the island of Cavallo where we will be able to take unforgettable baths in a unique natural setting.

In the afternoon we will sail to Rondinara or Santa Amanza (Southern Corsica) and spend the night there a few tens of meters from the beach.

Leg 4

Tuesday - Lavezzi

In the morning we will enjoy this paradise on earth for a few more hours with inevitable baths and a quiet lunch on board. In the early afternoon, we'll take advantage of the tender for a shore excursion to this island, which is part of the protected natural park of the Strait of Bonifacio.

In the afternoon we will sail to Bonifacio. The harbor fjord, with its cliffs more than 70 meters high, is an unmissable stop on this cruise. The view is breathtaking.

The city will amaze you with its small characteristic alleys that suddenly open onto the Strait of Bonifacio.

On the coast there are small, very quiet beaches such as Piccolo Sperone, Palombaggia and Santa Giulia.

We will spend the night in the port of Bonifacio.

Leg 5

Wednesday - Strait of Bonifacio

In the morning we will leave Bonifacio behind and sail through the Straits. We will return to Lavezzi for a swim in another of its enchanting bays. If the weather permits, in the afternoon we will move to the beach of Piantarella on the Piana island to spend the night.

Leg 6

Thursday - La Maddalena and Spargi

We will sail again to the islands of the Maddalena Park, we will visit Spargi and its beautiful Cala Corsara.

With the will of Aeolus we will then spend another night at anchor in Razzoli or Budelli.

Leg 7

Friday - Budelli

When we wake up, we will anchor in Razzoli, Santa Maria or Spargi. After the ritual swims and lunch on board we will sail to Cannigione where our week will end.

Boat not new, but functional and well divided and equipped. Obviously a top destination, between Northern Sardinia and Corsica. Skipper and hostess (brother and sister) kind, but... each smoked 20+ cigarettes a day and there were always full ashtray glasses and there was always the smell of smoke, almost everywhere. I understand that there is freedom to smoke, but a little attention to those who do not smoke would be expected. In addition, great disorder in the dinette, with provisions not stored but left ... under the table, and fires and sink almost perpetually dirty from the previous meal... Honestly, having also had other experiences, and considering the costs, I expected more attention. Good food and well prepared.

We have just returned and we are already homesick! It was a beautiful week, between crystal clear waters, wonderful coves, sailing and views that we will hardly forget. Massimo is an experienced skipper who always makes you feel in good hands and chooses the best route based on the sea and the wind, also taking you to truly special places. Martina was welcoming and pampered us all week with really good lunches, dinners and aperitifs. To make the holiday even more special were the company and the many laughs with our travel companions Anthony and Sergio: in a few days a beautiful atmosphere was created, as if we had known each other forever. Even our son Noah, 9 years old, at his first experience on a sailing boat had a lot of fun and Massimo had many small attentions for him that made him live this adventure with enthusiasm and serenity. The boat is comfortable, well maintained and the atmosphere that was created on board made everything even more beautiful. One of those holidays that end too quickly and that immediately make you want to leave again. Thank you Massimo, Martina and the whole crew for this wonderful week, we will carry this experience in our hearts! Andrea, Fabiola and Noah

It was a lovely week's trip all along the east coast of Sardinia. I particularly enjoyed all the swimming and snorkelling. Skipper is v competent. My only improvement would be going ashore a bit more for a walk.
