Celebrate New Year's Eve in the Aeolian Islands with an unforgettable sailing experience, among crystal clear waters, volcanic landscapes and Sicilian traditions.

The adventure begins with embarkation and the discovery of the islands, from the bays of Vulcano, to the historical beauties of Lipari, up to the natural views of Salina. Between excursions, baths in thermal waters and toasts under the stars, you will experience days of pure magic, with new friends and authentic flavors.

Every corner of the Aeolian Islands offers unique and unforgettable moments, in an atmosphere that makes every moment special, closing the old year and welcoming the new one in style.

Leg 1

Day 1

Monday - Portorosa - Vulcano

The appointment is scheduled for 30/12 at about 10:00 am. It is possible to embark the day before, i.e. Sunday 29/12 in the afternoon in the marina of Portorosa, Furnari (Messina).

Filled the galley and taken a seat in the cabin we are ready to set sail: we leave Sicily behind and with a fresh wind we sail towards Vulcano which welcomes us with its always smoking crater. We spend the night in Vulcano in the bay.

Day 2

Tuesday - Vulcano - Lipari

After a good breakfast of granita we go for a swim in the warm sulphurous waters in the bay of Levante and for those who want after a climb to the crater (1 hour walk). In the afternoon a short sail to Lipari after we will moor in Porto Pignataro dedicating ourselves to organizing our New Year's Eve party.

Day 3

Wednesday - Lipari - Salina

Visit to the old part of the town, the museum and the archaeological remains.

For walkers a nice excursion to Monte Rosa (1 hour walk).

We leave Pignataro and after a stop at the pumice quarries we head towards Salina where we will spend the night moored at the marina.

Leg 4

Day 4

Thursday - Salina - Portorosa

Breakfast at Alfredo's in Lingua with a good granita.

After tasting the good cunzatu bread we head towards Portorosa admiring the western part of Lipari, the famous Muria valley and Vulcano with the horse cave and the pools of Venus.

In the evening you will arrive in Portorosa where you will spend the night at the mooring. For those who have problems returning, it is possible to disembark on Thursday evening or sleep on the boat and disembark comfortably on Friday.

Day 5

It's time to say goodbye, but the desire to get back on the road is very strong. We exchange addresses with our travel companions and leave with the promise of meeting again soon, another sea trip and many other islands are there waiting for us!

Mario is an excellent skipper. Through him we were able to see the most beautiful corners of the Aeolian Islands. His local knowledge and contacts on all the islands gave us an unforgettable trip. We were also lucky enough to have his incredibly lovely wife on board. Even though communication was not easy (we didn't speak Italian and she didn't speak English), she made the trip even more beautiful. We thank them very much for this wonderful sailing holiday.

Very nice week aboard Mario's sailboat. The extraordinary landscapes and crystal clear water were there. Swimming every day, visiting the islands, each more charming than the next, and nights under the stars lulled to the rhythm of the waves. I recommend!
