This experience, in a nutshell

The course aims to provide notions and experience to deal with offshore navigation, the management of the boat and the crew in long navigation conditions.

The theoretical teaching (which will be addressed at sea) will mainly concern the tracing of routes, the analysis of critical points, the analysis of weather conditions; the practice is represented by 3 days of navigation on the high seas with management of the command, crew, rest times, feeding and everything related to a navigation that engages the whole day (and beyond)

COURSE RECIPIENTS:

Those who have a fair knowledge of sailing, owners and/or licensees who want to refine their skills

STRUCTURE AND LOGISTICS:The

course is divided into 3 full days (generally Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with several hours of navigation:

the nights can be the port of destination, at anchor or sailing

The course starts on Thursday evening with the embarkation and preparation of the galley and ends on Sunday at about 17:00 with the return

to the port of departure

The overnight stay and meals are on board the boat (unless the crew decides to have dinner in some restaurant in the port of call). Participation subject to possession of the annual ASD Acquaria AV

card

At the end of the course a certificate of participation

will be issued

Weather permitting, we will leave on Friday morning for Bastia and then reach Capraia the next day.

On Sunday we will stop in a roadstead in the north of Elba before returning to port in Piombino for about

17.00 In case of

adverse weather in the Tyrrhenian area north of Elba, if the conditions allow it, we will sail south of the island sailing between Porto Azzurro, Golfo Stella, Lacona and Pianosa

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Negative experience, the weather conditions forced us to return to the port in Piombino for 3 nights. The heavy rain created inconvenience for us because the water entered the cabins, wetting the mattresses. We have some doubts about the behavior of Captain Paolo starting from the lack of assistance in making galleys to retracing the same stretch of coast of the island of Elba 2 times and spending 3 nights at anchor in Porto Azzurro. On the last day we sailed only for a stretch returning to Piombino. More than a sailing holiday, it was motorized. We hope to be luckier in the future.
