This experience, in a nutshell

I love teaching. I was a sailing instructor at the Centre Nautique des Glénans and then gave sailing lessons, aboard my two sailboats , in the different places I frequented during my travels. I was also a scuba diving instructor. For me, the sharing of knowledge and the transmission of knowledge are essential elements of the meeting.

Aware of the constraints and limits of the courses given in traditional sailing schools, and

with the experience I have acquired in forty years of sailing, especially during my long-distance sailing in the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea (more than fifty-five thousand miles sailed), On board my sailboat, I give tailor-made sailing lessons, adapted to the level and expectations of each person, in real sailing situations.

I only take a maximum of four students on board at a time, in order to maximize the learning and practice time. The courses will be adapted to each person's knowledge and speed of progress. We will sail 4 to 6 hours a day. You will have time, when we arrive at the anchorage where we will spend the night, to enjoy the beautiful bays that we will visit, to go kayaking or paddle boarding and to go for a walk on land.

The sailing lessons given on board my sailboat are aimed at several types of people:Beginners who do not have the desire (or who feel that they are past the age) to cram five people

into a six-meter sailboat and who want to progress quickly by receiving lessons in small groups on a large sailboat,

  •
  • Apprentice sailors who already have the basics of navigation but who want to improve their knowledge and practice with intensive courses in real sailing situations,Owners
  •  of sailboats who do not have the necessary insurance to fully use their boats and who wish to gain control, autonomy and safety, with a very experienced skipper,
  • Travelers who want to buy a boat to explore the sea planet but who want to deepen their knowledge and experience life aboard a long-distance sailboat before embarking.

In navigation, we will practice:

  • Steering
  • ,
  • Estaking, lowering and reducing sails
  • ,
  • Trimming sails
  • ,
  • Following a course
  • ,
  • Tacking, gybeing,
  • Putting on the cape
  • ,
  • Anchoring, leaving an anchorage
  • ,
  • Using the autopilot,
  •  ...

At the chart table, we will practice every day :

  • Reading maps – Carrying and recording a point,Using
  • GPS and electronic charts,Analysis
  • of weather files,
  • ...

We will sail, departing from Saint Mandrier, around the magnificent islands of Porquerolles.

In just 4 days, Cyril taught us an impressive amount about sailing, sailing maneuvers and life on a sailboat in general. His pedagogy was well suited to our group who were embarking on this adventure for the first time; From the start, he gave us confidence to take things in hand. His rich experience of long-term travel, which he willingly shares, has motivated us all the more to continue this learning. Thank you Cyril!

Great stage! Thank you Cyril for your pedagogy whether on theory or maneuvers. You feel confident and you gradually bring the degree of difficulty, it allows you not to feel overwhelmed. Very friendly welcome I recommend

Cyril is a sailor with a big heart, when you do things with love it pays off. The seed that was sown during this training camp has already germinated and it is thanks to Cyril, [hidden] and my dear training teammates that I did not know, thank you to all 4.... His experience and anecdotes are rich in teaching. This sailing course will remain a precious memory in my life. Thank you Cyril. I recommend.
