Cannes can be reached via the A8 motorway (autoroute du Soleil): exit ""Cannes"" or ""Mandelieu/La Napoule"" to access the city and the coastal roads; from Nice the distance is about 27 km with travel times around 30-40 minutes, from Marseille the distance is about 175-190 km with times around 2-2.5 hours along the A8, while from Paris the journey is about 900-1,000 km with driving times in the order of 8-10 hours on the A6/A7/A8 motorway networks; public car parks and rest areas are available near the centre and the port, with main access from Boulevard Jean Hibert and Boulevard Carnot.

The main station is Gare de Cannes (Cannes-Ville), served by SNCF TGV and TER Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur trains; direct TGV connections with Paris Gare de Lyon with journeys of around 51/2-6 hours, direct rail connections or with a few changes with Lyon in about 4 hours and with Marseille in about 11/2-2 hours; regional connections from Nice take about 25-35 minutes and from Antibes about 10-15 minutes; the station platforms and yards allow transfers to the main nodes of the Côte d'Azur.

The nearest airport is Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE), about 25-30 km from Cannes; from the terminal you can reach Cannes by shuttle bus services and regional bus lines, taxis, car rental or tram+train combinations to Nice-Ville with railway continuation to Cannes; transfer times vary approximately from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the means of transport chosen; for private flights and general aviation there is the Cannes-Mandelieu aerodrome, used for non-scheduled aviation seats.
