This experience, in a nutshell

The Seychelles is an archipelago off the coast of East Africa, not far from Madagascar.

Considered the most beautiful islands in the Indian Ocean, they coincide perfectly with the image of paradisiacal tropical beaches.

But the Seychelles is not just beach life, but much more! We'll fill our eyes with beauty, thanks to the wealth of coral reefs for dream dives, nature reserves, where we'll be able to see curious birds, rare animals such as the giant Aldabra tortoise and unique fruits such as the Coco de Mer, symbol of the Seychelles islands.

We will depart from Mahé which is the largest and most developed island of the Seychelles archipelago.

Mahé is home to the capital Victoria, the international airport and about 90% of the population.

Although it is the most developed island, there is no shortage of natural beauty!

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Victoria.

Check-in: 2:00 PM

Our trip ends here:

Victoria.

Check-out: 8:00 AM

Leg 1

Saturday - boarding

On Saturday starting at 15:00 we will take delivery of our catamarans at the Eden Island Marina on Mahé. After embarking on the galley and the safety briefing, you can take a seat in your cabins, before leaving the moorings for a short sail to the St. Anne Marine Park: a protected place where over 150 species of fish live in a fascinating underwater world to be discovered. We will anchor in paradise: you can swim and snorkel in the unspoiled nature with dolphins and sea turtles. or we will take advantage of the evening to visit the capital Port Victoria

Leg 2

Doomenica

The cruise departs from Mahè and heads for the Praslin archipelago, the second largest island in the Seychelles. You will have the opportunity to dive in the crystal clear waters of St. Pierre, a small island on the northwest side of Praslin and then we will all sail together to the island of Curieuse, famous for the presence of giant tortoises, where we will spend the night.

Leg 3

Monday

Today we'll explore Curieuse Island, where we'll spend the day among the turtles and hike to the Doctors House, a perfect example of Creole architecture. Afterwards we will get back on board and, weather permitting, we will set sail for Anse Lazio otherwise we will remain at anchor in the area.

Leg 4

Tuesday

Today we will moor in the snorkeling paradise of Île Cocos, a small granite island covered with palm trees. On the surrounding Great Barrier Reef you will have the opportunity to swim among colorful tropical fish. The cruise will then continue to the Grande Soeur Island, part of the Sister Islands. It is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the entire Seychelles archipelago and characterized by crystal clear water, white sand, verdant palm trees and red granite rocks, the perfect setting for your photographs. We will spend the night on La Digue, the fourth largest island in the archipelago, and in particular on the Petite Anse beach, wild and secluded, a true postcard landscape!

Leg 5

Wednesday

We will enter the port of La Digue in the morning around 09:00. We will spend the day on land and there will be the possibility to rent bicycles with which you can reach the magnificent Anse Source d'Argent, characterized by shallow turquoise waters, white sand and granite rocks, which make it a dream beach like those described in the books, as well as one of the most photographed in the world. A real must-see for anyone visiting the Seychelles!

Leg 6

Thursday

After breakfast and a few dives we will set sail for Aride, an island that, contrary to what you might think from the name, has lush vegetation and is therefore a protected natural area, just like the coral reef that surrounds it. In the afternoon you can then dive into the crystal clear waters of St. Pierre to snorkel or simply relax, and then we will sail to St. Anne, where we will spend the night under the stars.

Leg 7

Friday

We have almost reached the end of the cruise: today we will head first to Port Launay, a truly unique place if compared to the other beaches of the Seychelles, where it is possible to carry out numerous sports activities, and then to the beach of Baie Ternay - Anse du Riz. You will then have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the waters of Île Thérèse, a wild island full of tropical vegetation. Last night in port on Eden Island to celebrate together the closure of the cruise in the Seychelles.

Leg 8

Saturday - Disembarkation

Disembarkation is scheduled for 08:00. Since the flight will be in the afternoon, we recommend a visit to the center of Victoria, in particular the Hindu Temple and the mini Big-Ben or alternatively to spend one last day at the beach on the beautiful beach of Bel Ombre.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

ENJOY: in the blue painted blue of the Aeolian Islands

Would you do a sailing holiday again? Well this is the question that I am repeating to myself already during my first experience and to this day it continues to spin in my head, despite my feet on the ground. Yes and no! Here's the answer! Of course, it was my first experience and honestly if I had to think of approaching the organization of a boat holiday, as it was, I would certainly opt for something else. I really love clarity, especially of costs, transparency and empathy in all those technical-organizational aspects that must be preventive rather than in itinere, which leave no alternative but to ruin and make the traveler uncomfortable even before setting sail. I can say that I had a nice motor trip on a sailboat that was born with considerable sailing potential (according to the experts), but that I was able to appreciate only for a couple of hours out of seven days despite the fact that many other boats were sailing around me. I found insistent indications of frequent ashore descents for dinners and parties even though the group wanted to remain gathered in friendship and sobriety on the boat. Rules are rules and in certain environments they must be respected but in common certain moments for example "galley" which I have heard of as one of the most "exclusive and fun", but which I found and lived with heaviness and frustration. But beyond all this, the group has made a common front and this sense of sharing lived in a small living space, which makes everything amplified, has brought souls together in an incredible unity of purpose. So will I go back to choosing a sailing holiday? I don't know yet, certainly if I can I choose the group, the Friends and the places visited.

The holiday was enjoyable thanks to our well-established crew of friends, new people added who were meant to stay in my heart, very friendly and helpful staff members, and lovely places seen. Unfortunately, I have to give a negative evaluation to the skippers/organizers who, despite having high qualifications and having been informed several times of the kind of holiday appreciated by all present (sailing holiday) gave priority to motor navigation more to reach pre-established destinations and restaurants to offer rather than to listen to our needs for freedom from time and space, to sail listening to the sounds of the wind and the sea and to relax in nature. The sails were hoisted only once in the whole week despite the fact that the opportunities had also presented themselves other times to our great disappointment given the beautiful boat we were on!! To fill a now full vase was added the lack of clarity and average values much higher than the costs (fuel and general) which led the holiday in the end to be more expensive than we expected. This will certainly teach us to ask for much more precise and detailed information before booking other trips on sailsquare.

I recommend this sailing holiday to those looking above all for authentic human relationships and friendships that can become infinite: from this point of view the experience is truly unforgettable. The staff was friendly and attentive. In our case the skipper did not act as a supplement, but it was not a problem because we were already a group. However, it is essential to have clear expectations. If you want to spend the week sailing mainly in advance, it is advisable to find out well in advance: in my case, I only found out after departure that we would only use the sails for a short moment in a single day. Similarly, I didn't know that the skipper/organization was predominantly aiming to eat at local restaurants or kiosks instead of on board. With this information I would definitely have chosen another option or destination.
