This experience, in a nutshell

Spend two weeks sailing through Grenada and the Grenadines, one of the most unspoilt cruising areas in the Eastern Caribbean, aboard a Fountaine Pajot Aura 51 catamaran. A professional skipper takes care of the sailing, while a host prepares breakfast and lunch onboard. We have operated crewed Caribbean trips since 2021.

Starting from Port Louis Marina in St George’s, the route heads north through Carriacou and into St Vincent & the Grenadines, visiting Tobago Cays, Mayreau, Mustique and Bequia before returning to Grenada. Expect steady 15–20 knot north-east trade winds, warm turquoise waters and mostly short island hops of 8–15 NM, with the longer passages to and from Carriacou and Grenada covering around 30 NM.

Most days include a long lunch and swim stop at anchor, followed by an evening on a different island. The skipper adapts the itinerary daily according to wind, sea conditions and the group’s energy. Bed linen, towels, marina and harbour fees, national park and cruising permit fees, and fuel are included. The crew also handles customs and immigration formalities between Grenada and St Vincent & the Grenadines.

Dinners are normally enjoyed ashore at island restaurants and beach bars known by the crew.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Sailing with a professional skipper and an onboard host on a spacious Fountaine Pajot Aura 51 catamaran, no prior sailing experience needed
  • Snorkelling the Tobago Cays Marine Park: green turtles, Horseshoe Reef and a lobster beach BBQ
  • Grenada’s Underwater Sculpture Park and the lush “Spice Island” west coast
  • A mooring night at exclusive Mustique and sundowners at the famous Basil’s Bar
  • Bequia’s Admiralty Bay, Princess Margaret Beach and its model-boat builders
  • Steady winter trade winds and warm water — short hops, big skies and empty anchorages

SAILING RESPONSIBLY, SUPPORTING LOCALLY
We follow a responsible approach to sailing, respecting marine park rules and using mooring buoys instead of anchoring on coral or seagrass in the Tobago Cays. Whenever conditions allow, we sail rather than motor, while onboard we reduce single-use plastics, sort waste and encourage reef-safe sunscreen and respectful snorkelling. Through mooring and visitor fees, we also support the Tobago Cays Marine Park.

We believe our trips should also benefit the communities we visit. We source provisioning, fuel, laundry and other services locally, while beach BBQs and dinners support local vendors and family-run restaurants. Our routes are built around long-standing relationships with local partners and small businesses, helping keep more of our spending within islands such as Bequia, Union, Carriacou and Mayreau.

Leg 1

DAY 1

Embarkation · Port Louis Marina (Grenada)

Guests arrive at Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND), about 20 minutes from Port Louis Marina (transfer on request). Welcome onboard from 16:00 with a safety briefing and route walkthrough. First night in the marina; dinner ashore on the Carenage in St George’s.

Leg 2

DAY 2

St George’s → Grenada west coast

A gentle first leg (~8 NM) up Grenada’s leeward coast. Snorkel stop at the Molinère Underwater Sculpture Park; lunch and swim at anchor. Evening in Dragon Bay or back on the Carenage, with an optional stroll through the St George’s spice market.

Leg 3

DAY 3

Grenada → Carriacou (Tyrrel Bay)

The first trade-wind passage north (~30 NM) — often the best sail of the trip. Lunch underway; afternoon arrival in sheltered Tyrrel Bay. Quiet evening ashore with a rum-shop stop and fresh-fish dinner.

Leg 4

DAY 4

Carriacou: Sandy Island & Hillsborough

A short hop (~6 NM) to Sandy Island, a palm-topped sandspit inside a reef — some of the trip’s best snorkelling and swimming. Afternoon ashore in Hillsborough. Overnight off Sandy Island or back in Tyrrel Bay.

Leg 5

DAY 5

Carriacou → Union Island (Chatham Bay)

Cross into St Vincent & the Grenadines (~10 NM); the crew clears customs at Clifton. Anchor in wild, hill-ringed Chatham Bay. Beach BBQ dinner on the sand, cooked up by the bay’s local vendors.

Leg 6

DAY 6

Union Island → Tobago Cays

A short sail (~9 NM) to the Tobago Cays Marine Park, the centrepiece of the trip. Anchor behind Horseshoe Reef and swim with green turtles. Lobster BBQ on the beach at Petit Bateau. Overnight inside the park.

Leg 7

DAY 7

Tobago Cays → Mayreau (Saltwhistle Bay)

A two-mile hop to tiny Mayreau. Afternoon at Saltwhistle Bay, a near-perfect crescent of sand. Walk up to the hilltop church for the view across the Cays; sunset drinks ashore.

Leg 8

DAY 8

Mayreau → Canouan (Charlestown Bay)

An easy sail north (~8 NM). Swim and lunch at anchor, then an afternoon on Canouan’s long Grand Bay beach. A quiet evening aboard or at a beach bar ashore.

Leg 9

DAY 9

Canouan → Mustique

Sail (~12 NM) to exclusive Mustique and pick up a Mustique Company mooring in Britannia Bay. Sundowners at the famous Basil’s Bar; optional island tour past the hideaway villas.

Leg 10

DAY 10

Mustique → Bequia (Admiralty Bay)

A pleasant reach (~13 NM) to Bequia, the most characterful of the Grenadines. Anchor in Admiralty Bay off Princess Margaret Beach; waterfront dinner and a wander through Port Elizabeth.

Leg 11

DAY 11

Bequia → Saint Vincent (Cumberland Bay)

The northern turnaround (~12 NM) to lush, mountainous St Vincent. Lines ashore in dramatic, palm-fringed Cumberland Bay; optional trip to the Botanical Gardens or Dark View Falls.

Leg 12

DAY 12

Saint Vincent → Tobago Cays

A longer southbound reach (~28 NM) back to the Cays for a second day in the Marine Park — more reef, more turtles and more time on the beach. Overnight inside the park.

Leg 13

DAY 13

Tobago Cays → Carriacou (Tyrrel Bay)

Sail south (~12 NM); the crew clears back into Grenada at Tyrrel Bay. A last Grenadines evening ashore and a farewell-week dinner with the crew.

Leg 14

DAY 14

Carriacou → Grenada (Port Louis Marina)

The final trade-wind passage south (~30 NM) down Grenada’s coast, with a last swim stop along the way. Evening back in Port Louis Marina; farewell dinner in St George’s

Leg 15

DAY 15
