More than a holiday, it was an odyssey..... Sailsquare needs to better verify the travel proposals, feasibility and results. We had a skipper who was absolutely not prepared to face this route who had to pass through 4 countries (2 non-EU) A skipper can't go to sleep, put the autonavigator on and leave the guests to check.... To arrive on time we had to sail even at night.... The skipper's solution was to take a bus if we couldn't make it to Zadar At the docks, guests must not be made responsible as it should not be the guest's job to pull the sails up and down while the skipper screams and directs attached to his helm... (I'm not an expert.... I'm a person who paid to relax at sea) This skipper can hardly be entrusted with the round and round of a slurry. I have had many holidays with sailsquare but this route and this skipper I do not recommend to anyone unless you agree to go at your own risk....

**Definitely disappointing experience, far from what you expect from a sailing holiday.** We found ourselves living a holiday characterized by **anxiety, improvisation and lack of professionalism**. The skipper, instead of transmitting safety and tranquility, often seemed to us to be poorly organized and unwilling to take initiatives. Particularly serious was the **lack of preparation in the management of navigation and itinerary**. Despite the need to know the regulations of the countries visited, in particular **Montenegro and Albania**, we were even **sanctioned by the Montenegrin police for docking in extraterritorial waters**. The planning of the stages was also inadequate, creating difficulties in respecting the return to the **agreed port**. The management of the navigation was also partly offloaded to the crew: **due to the cough, the skipper told us that he could not catch wind and we found ourselves doing night shifts at the helm while he was in bed sleeping**. The same problem resulted in **almost two days lost looking for a doctor or hospital**, where he was diagnosed with simple bronchitis. We understand that health can create unforeseen events, but we consider it unacceptable that the consequences fall on the entire crew. More than guests on vacation, we have often felt **hubs**, engaged in jobs and tasks that we did not expect to have to manage in this way. **Ultimately, we had the feeling that we had paid for a sailing holiday and found ourselves acting as a service crew, with a skipper who gave us more anxiety than safety.** **For me, absolutely negative experience.**

Experience not to be repeated! The program included stops in bays and towns... we spent the first week sailing even at night... with night shifts at the helm. Anxious and improvised skipper with few and very confused ideas. We also got a fine because the skipper decided to anchor where the agreements for international waters were not active. 👎🏻

We spent a very good week with Tommaso on his beautiful sailboat. The weather was not always ideal for sailing, and the program could not be realized, but our skipper found us visits, restaurants and nice walks to console us. We discovered life on board and learned how to ride the boat. Too bad for the Maddalena, we just have to start again. With Tommaso maybe!
