This experience, in a nutshell

the archipelago of the Pontine Islands emerges from the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea with six magnificent volcanic islands off the southern coast of Lazio.

Ponza, Ventotene, Santo Stefano, Gavi, Zanone and Palmarola, six names for six paradise islands where you can escape from everyday life, enjoy the beauty of wild and unspoiled nature, practice water sports and immerse yourself in a crystal clear sea.

The two main islands of the archipelago in terms of size and inhabitants are those of Ponza and Ventotene, the others are small, almost uninhabited, used as nature reserves as in the case of Zannone and can be visited by boat excursions.

Ponza is the largest of the Pontine sisters in terms of history and size and is considered one of the most beautiful islands in Italy.

Halfway between land and sea, there are also spectacular sea caves with amazing colors that can be reached by sea to immerse yourself in the play of light of the turquoise waters, as well as the sandy beaches crowded with bathers such as the famous Frontone beach, the Bay of Cala Feola and the more remote cove of the Parata.

To form the identity of this beautiful island also contributes its fashionable town made up of colorful houses, narrow alleys, fishermen's houses, fashionable boutiques and suggestive clubs carved into the rocks.

Located southeast of Ponza, three hours by boat, but less than half its size, the island of Ventotene is the other inhabited island of the Pontine archipelago.

It has a more spartan and discreet atmosphere than the livelier Ponza, which makes it an ideal destination for those looking for a quiet stay, in complete relaxation and in contact with nature. the island allows you to wander through its pedestrian streets and numerous historical sites of interest such as the luxurious Villa Giulia in Punta Eolo: an ancient imperial residence with its rooms, gardens, cisterns and mosaics or in the Roman port carved into the volcanic rock.

The third largest Pontine island after Ponza and Ventotene, Palmarola is one of the most evocative and particular islands in the turquoise waters of the archipelago.

It is an enchanting and almost entirely uninhabited place, characterized by caves, stacks, small beaches and picturesque hidden bays that have earned it the status of protected nature reserve.

The only traces of human settlements are the characteristic houses dug by the wind in the rock caves of Cala del Porto, the only landing place on the island.

Our itinerary

We will depart from the port of Nettuno with the bow facing Palmarola, which we will reach after about 4h 30'. We will check the weather conditions to decide whether to moor on the west or east side of the island. The following day we will reach the southern tip of Palmarola where we will take a swim to visit the most beautiful caves on the island. Towards sunset we will reach the port of Ponza where you can disembark and dine in the many restaurants or dine on the boat with the panorama of the city illuminated as a backdrop. The next day we will tour the island, swim, sun and have lunch and then set sail to return to Nettuno, arriving between 5/6 pm.
