The number 37 in the name of the boat stands for the length in feet -so just under 12 meters. Our boat was built in the French shipyard Jeanneau in Brittany. And this is what the shipyard themselves said about our yacht: "The Sun Odyssey 37, designed by Jacques Fauroux, ideally combines beauty and performance. This striking characteristic illustrates exactly the new line of Jeanneau cruising yachts. The distinctive deck is designed harmoniously according to the latest deck design. The new styled seats on the coaming are ideal for the helmsman. The ballast keel is important for the power and provides the necessary stiffness. The generous rigging allows you to sail in all weather conditions.“ Although this description is already over fifteen years old, our yacht is still a well-groomed, attractive lady in her prime. Her measurements are: Length: 11.40 m, Width: 3.70 m, Weight (empty, without wine ;-), etc.): 6.1 tons, Height mast: 13.65 m, Sail surface (main + genoa): 69.8 m², Draft: 1.95 m. In addition to a very cozy saloon, the boat has a fully equipped pantry/kitchen and navigation corner with all the necessary instruments. There are three cabins - for two crew members each - and a toilet with shower. There is also an outdoor shower on the bathing platform, also with warm water. The necessary safety equipment is completely available, incl. VHF radio, as well as a large dinghy/tender with a 15 HP outboard motor. In the cockpit there is an outdoor dining area for 6 persons. The boat is completely serviced and taken out of the water once a year., The hull is cleaned, provided with a new antifouling coating and high-gloss polished. In addition, the yacht is constantly being upgraded technically - just with a new shaft and a swing-wing prop or an electric on-board toilet last year.
