SILHOUETTE Dream Premium - ALL INCLUSIVE catamaran with hostess / cook

07/11/2023

Alfredo P.

6 reasons to explore the Seychelles on a catamaran for your next sailing holiday:

  • The wonder of a warm, welcoming climate all year round - leave your coat at home - there is an average annual temperature of 27ºC.
  • Paradisiacal beaches, that have been well preserved, crystal clear turquoise waters, stunning granite rock formations, and mountainous jungle - coming together to make a most beautiful sailing landscape.
  • Board a spacious catamaran, that allows a most comfortable sailing experience possible - especially when travelling as a family or a larger group!
  • As a catamaran has less movement at sea than a monohull sailboat, it is perfect for first time sailors, reducing any concerns about sea sickness.
  • Meet the famous Aldabra giant tortoise, one of the largest in the world, that resides in the Seychelles, and snorkel with thousands of colourful fish!
  • Try the delicious fresh seafood and tasty, native Creole dishes.

The best destinations to visit on your holiday to the Seychelles aboard a catamaran:

The Republic of Seychelles, an archipelago of some 115 small islands is located in the Indian Ocean, off from Eastern Africa. These islands, distinguished by their coral tones, are home to an array of rare fauna and flaura, as well as stunning granite rock formations. The giant Aldabra tortoises in the area, some of the largest in the world, are treasured residents. Sailing the Seychelles on a catamaran is unparalleled, due to the boats weak draft, allowing them to venture into shallower waters than a monohull - meaning you can travel with an unrivalled level of freedom!

Mahé Island

Mahé, whose capital is Victoria, is the largest island in the Seychelles. Wherever you are on Mahé, the lush tropical mountains cascade down to idyllic white sand beaches. The west coast is particularly famous for its long succession of beautiful beaches. Much of the vegetation found on Mahe is rare and endemic, due to its isolation from other continents. You can find unique plants such as the vanilla orchid or the jellyfish tree that are found nowhere else in the world. The Morne Seychellois National Park is a brilliant place to discover this flora. Last, but not least, Mahé is famous for its warm vibrant atmosphere, Creole architecture, markets and botanical gardens.

Praslin Island

The island of Praslin may well be the second largest of the Seychelles, but has only a tiny fraction of the population. There are a number of stunning beaches such as Anse Georgette, Anse Lazio, and Anse Boudin that are examples of raw natural beauty. You can also discover the Valley of May, the National Park of the Seychelles - classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

La Digue

This island is easily accessible from Mahé. With a population of just 2,800, much of the island is made up of lush tropical vegetation. Anse Source d'Argent, is famed for being one of the most photographed beaches in the world - with white sand emerging between crystal clear waters and unique rock formations. The island offers some incredible wildlife sightseeing opportunities, such as the critically endangered, orange tailed paradise flycatcher and for divers the possibility to see blacktip reef sharks and whale sharks.

When to visit the Seychelles & transport options

Looking to escape the cold winter? Perfect. The best time for sailing holidays in the Seychelles is between October and May. Although, conditions are conducive for sailing in the area throughout the year.

The cost of a sailing holiday in the Seychelles aboard a catamaran will depend on the season you decide to travel, however, you may be able to find experiences from €1,000 per week, per person. The international airport is located on the capital island of Mahé, where a number of airlines operate services. Flying from London, for example will require a layover, generally in Dubai, Istanbul, or in Africa. We recommend using a flight comparison site to source the best travel option to suit you.

Praslin - St. Pierre - The Curiosa - Felicity - Isla Cousin - La Digue: along this route you can visit a larger part of the Seychelles archipelago. The duration of this route depends on the time you want to spend in each destination. You would need between 10-15 days to complete this route.
