The week on the Aeolian Islands begins in the charming town of PortoROSA (Furnari-Messina). The port, inside a tourist village, is located in a strategic position, and can be easily reached by car, taking the A20 motorway, but also from the airports of Palermo and Catania through comfortable shuttle buses.
Geographically, it is also among the places closest to the Aeolian Islands, so you can reach the archipelago in about three hours.
Check-in on Saturday generally takes place between 15/16.
Once you have purchased the galley (market in the same village) and of course you have boarded the crew members, you will leave to reach the southern edge of the island of Vulcano (Località Gelso).
Restorative bath and then transfer for the evening to the bay or west port. From here it is possible to make a night visit to the inhabited center of the island.
The next day bow towards the island of Panarea . This island that needs no introduction is dotted with a small archipelago of islets where you can pleasantly spend the whole day. In the evening, you cannot miss the exploration of the tiny town famous for its intense nightlife. Unforgettable night moored in the Milazzese bay.
Monday is the turn of the island of Stromboli where, the most daring will be able to make the ascent to the crater (excursion that requires an authorized guide to be booked on site) and the most romantic to watch the breathtaking sunset from the terrace of the tiny hamlet of Ginostra.
On Tuesday morning we leave, bow on Salina with an intermediate stop for swimming north of Panarea (the island is on the route to Salina halfway). Salina is correctly defined the green island and for trekking enthusiasts after a climb of medium difficulty, through unexpected woods, lasting about 2 hours, you reach "Fossa delle Felci" the highest peak of the entire archipelago (968m.). From here you can enjoy the 360 ° view of the entire archipelago. Unforgettable panorama!
The more enjoyable ones will be able to get distracted with the famous Alfredo granitas, in the locality of Lingua, otherwise visit one of the many local wineries producing the famous Malvasia.
Wednesday before leaving Salina, stop for a swim in the famous bay of Pollara (one of the sets where they shot the film "Il Postino") then set off on Filicudi to spend the night in the tiny port of Pecorini a Mare.
On Thursday after a tender excursion inside the cave of the "Bue Marino" and a passage next to the "Canna" (places on the island that should not be deserted) we go to Lipari , the largest island of the archipelago. Before reaching the port to visit the village, you can admire the west coast of the island and in particular "Valle Muria", wonderful for the colors of the coves, the Faraglionie and the mouths of Vulcano
Friday is the day of the return but, before returning to the port of origin, we will go to the west coast of the island of Vulcano to visit the " Grotta del Cavallo " and other bays totally made up of lava.
