This experience, in a nutshell

The navigation route

Visiting all the Aeolian Islands in one week is tiring, therefore we offer two itineraries to your liking.

Itinerary 1- boarding on Saturday in Vulcano from 2 pm to 4 pm, then Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli; disembarkation in Vulcano on Saturday morning before 8 am.

Itinerary 2 - boarding on Saturday in Vulcano from 2 pm to 4 pm, then Lipari, Salina, Filicudi, Alicudi; disembarkation in Vulcano on Saturday morning before 8 am.

VOLCANO
In Vulcano you will embark on the docks of Baia di Levante, right next to the hydrofoil docking port.
The town is lively, there are bars and restaurants. The Remigio bar, on the harbor, offers an excellent granita, I suggest the mulberry granita with cream (the cream is amazing)
There are many good restaurants.
You can take sulphurous baths that have beneficial effects for the skin and rheumatism, you can take a walk on the top of the volcano (one hour walk without difficulty), admire the crater, the sulphurous heads, a breathtaking landscape with a view of the nearby islands ( not to be missed), you can swim on the black beach with evening music and cocktails.
To buy, if you want a good wine, the Hierà, the red wine produced by Hauner with grapes from the island of Vulcano, with a particular and fantastic flavor.
By boat, we can visit the Grotta del Cavallo with its crystal clear waters and the red and black rocks of Vulcano.
A day in Vulcano deserves to be spent.

LIPARI
We can go to the harbor in front of Marina Piccola or on the pier of Marina Lunga.
It is the capital of the Aeolian Islands, a town rich in history with an interesting historic center. Many small shops, artisans, bars and restaurants among the lanes; city with a very lively life, even at night.
The slushes of the bars in Marina Piccola, the Sicilian cannoli, the cunzatu bread! Entertainment for the palate.
Here, too, the walk on land must be done.
The pumices
The real beach of Lipari can be found at the pomici. Here were the pumice quarries, now closed because this activity created problems for the health of the workers. We bottom the anchor on a few meters of seabed. The pumice created a white background that refracts sunlight offering a show of colors in the water ranging from white to turquoise to deep blue. A dip in the sea and an unforgettable evening at anchor.

SALINA
Pollara The most beautiful anchorage in Salina is Pollara, the place where in the film “Il postino” there is the house where Pablo Neruda lived and where Troisi used to take his mail. Seen from the sea, with the stairways, the caves where the fishermen sheltered the boats from the storms, the rocks, the fish and the crystal clear water is truly spectacular. Here only stop at anchor for a swim.

PANAREA
It is the island of the Aeolian worldliness. It is possible to stay at anchor or at the buoy, better the buoy. We go ashore with the tender.
The town offers rich and very beautiful shops, a walk among villas with stunning gardens, an electric car trip or on foot to Cala Junco, with its beautiful beach and prehistoric village, and of course the disco for those who wish it. . Here you will find luxury, boutiques, antiques and of course bars, restaurants and Sicilian granitas. Not to be missed!
Cala junco Anchorage in front of the beach. Also from here it is possible to visit the prehistoric village by swimming ashore and climbing the small promontory where the archaeological site is located. However, it is worth taking a swim with a mask and fins in the sea in front of the beach, where you can see octopuses, groupers and moray eels. The landscape is wonderful. Peace, especially in the evening when everyone goes ashore, is true peace.

STROMBOLI
Better to go to the buoy because the bottom is treacherous. Some difficulties in getting off the ground.
The country is nice; if you want you can organize a walk on the volcano with the guide, but it is not for everyone and you need mountain shoes, good legs and a day at your disposal.
The sciara In Stromboli you go to see the sciara di fuoco, the immense lava flow that descends from the top of the volcano to the sea. At night we move from the buoy to go under the sciara to see the eruptions, very high plumes of incandescent lava that rise towards the sky accompanied by the explosions. It is a wonderful and impressive sight. Essential.
Ginostra It is not always possible to give bottom to in front of Ginostra, but if time permits, a walk must be taken. The village on the slopes of the volcano is inaccessible from land. It has a small dock for the gozzetti where we enter with the tender to go ashore, visit the small town and enjoy a granita in the square. Few people used to isolation live here, in fact the village is inaccessible for long periods. There are two food shops, the bar, the post office and splendid houses inhabited by those who love the risk of living under the slopes of the volcano! A few years ago the village was covered with lava, and then cleaned up, but its people love the volcano.

FILICUDI
Possible destinations: Filicudi port with the breakfast bar: granita with brioche, promenade along the seafront and pebble beach
Pecorini a mare, a beautiful village where you can walk along the seafront and buy fish.
The cave of the sea ox and "the reed" rock in the blue, where you can take a refreshing bath among the colorful fish.

ALICUDI
It is the furthest of the Aeolian Islands. There are no roads, only stairs that go from the port to the top. An island that before the last war was home to 2000 people, vineyards, caper crops, an industry that exported to the world. Now about a hundred people live on the island but the houses have been restored to tourism and are beautiful. It is a mythical and spectacular place!
The port At the port you will find the bar to enjoy a fantastic granita with cream and brioche, a grocery store, the station of the mules who load goods and luggage to take them up the mountain, to the houses! A unique and unique environment is the aperitif at the port in the evening where you meet the whole village.
If you want an Aeolian dinner we book at Rosina's and dine on a terrace from which you can see the infinite. Rosina is the latest Alicudi wine producer: tasting and buying it is a mythical experience! The vineyards are on the mountain and when you work in the vineyard you remain up there, lost in the sky.
The ascent to the summit Those with good legs can climb to the summit or to the floors, see the houses scattered on the mountain, reach the high church with its wells and the crops even higher. The summit is a very tiring 4 hour walk, but you can stop at the church or at the floors. A unique walk! There are still houses without water and without light where some families live permanently looking at the sea. The view takes your breath away!
Bazzina Under a fall in the mountain, connected to the town by a path, we find Bazzina, a small village with no landings. Some beautiful house placed on a microscopic esplanade, behind the houses the dry stone walls that create the floors where the ancient inhabitants cultivated vines and capers. In a world of its own, another micro world. We will see it from the sea! Those who live there are used to traveling by mule!
In Alicudi it is prudent to stay at the buoy because the seabed is deep and anchoring is difficult; if we do not find the buoy we will stay at anchor. It's your captain's favorite island. Here you will find the Aeolian Islands!
