This is a holiday dedicated to
- Sailing School
Brief description of the holiday
Learn to plan offshore sailing from the first checks to safety, planning routes and evaluating navigation times. We will think together about the galley to be prepared and the clothing, about how to manage sleep during the hardest hours and choose companions both on the basis of skills in steering the sails and in resisting the fatigue of shifts and altruism. We will implement the procedures to deal with bad weather to manage meals and on-board cooking and rest shifts. It will be 50 hours of navigation from Genoa to Corsica with a short stop, then Capraia and then the return to Genoa. If Aeolus is kind to us we will try the spinnaker, if Neptune wants to give us emotions we will cross the routes of whales and dolphins. Among the many things I will teach you to apply the rules of precedence by crossing other units at night, to recognize the light signals of the coast, to use a cartographic GPS. After that, you will probably do the next crossing on your own.
Dufour 41, 12 meters comfortable, spacious and welcoming boat. Wooden interior. Equipped with three double cabins and 2 bathrooms with shower.

Other important information
Bring a small soft bag (no trolley no wheels) and put in the appropriate clothing for the season: waxed or windproof jacket. two fleece, gloves, a wool hat and heavy trousers for night cruising, a sweatshirt, a beauty case for hygiene, a pillowcase, a sleeping bag, shoes with clear or purely boat soles. I cook or you cook or someone prepares sandwiches; the rule is: those who cook do not wash the dishes so not having a hostess on board we will all work to keep order and cleanliness (which also means safety). Yes you can smoke aft and downwind! Yes, you can eat whenever you want, be a carnivore or a vegan. Yes, you can make unlimited use of my teachings to learn to sail and then start sailing alone!
