Brief description of the holiday
Discover the Isle of Wight, at the famous
festival , and its surroundings. You will cross the English
Channel and rails, a true highway for freighters going back to the
North from Europe. Navigation may require night shifts. The
crossing of the Channel can vary from 8 to 12 h.
Wight will enchant you with its typical ports like Yarmouth or Cowes , its Needles cliffs, hanging from those of Etretat and its British charm.
Navigation in the Solent is protected from the moods of the sea and offers many destinations, such as the rise of the river Beaulieu in the New Forest National Park on the edges of which nestle sumptuous cottages, in lush nature.
Depending on the winds, heading east on Sussex, its rolling hills chalk, the South Downs, and Chichester Bay, or West to Poole and Swanage Bay in Dorset, and its exceptional geological riches.
DUFOUR 50 CLASSIC is a boat of 15m.
After sailed in the Caribbean, it has been moved to SAINT NAZAIRE and then CHERBOURG in May 2014.
The port is in deep water, which allows to be free of our movement. The boat can leave and return to port at any time. This specificity gives an appreciable freedom of navigation because most of the ports located in HIPS must cope with the tide. It has 10 berths with 3 double cabins and 4 bunks. But in order to be comfortable in navigation, the crew will not exceed 8 people.
it has a large sail and a genoa of 55 m2, a spinnaker of 200 m2, a solent. The electronic equipment ensures optimum safety: an AIS GPS radar, a fixed VHF, a RAYMARINE electronic control unit.
