Brief description of the holiday
Discover the beautiful Islands between Cretes and Rhodes,
crystal clear water and unspoiled beaches will be your
companions. You will have the opportunity to discover an
unbeaten road, and get to know the local greek culture. Enjoy your
time while sailing or swimming in pristine water.
Our itinerary consists of two possible routes, choose the one that best suits your desires:
Day 1: Ag. Nikolaos We meet in the Island of Cretes, in Ag. Nikolaos. After the arrival of all participants, drinks and food must be purchased on the go. In the evening, me and my wife prepare a 'Captain's dinner' for our guests and we will discuss our trip together.
Day 2: Ag. Nikolaos - Sitia Sitia is a sleepy-looking city in eastern Crete. The city has about 9,000 inhabitants and is the center of the region. The Venetian castle is visible from afar. The small archaeological museum, a collection from the Minoan to Roman times, is worth seeing. There is not much tourism in Sitia. Thus, the city is suitable as a vanishing point of the crowded holiday regions of the package tourists 40 to 60 km west.
Day 3: our journey continue to Kasos , the southernmost island of the Dodecanese archipelago and home to numerous captains, played an important role in the revolution of 1821. Mountainous and uncommon , it differs considerably from the usual mass tourism destinations; a very special experience for every visitor.
Many consider Kasos an escape from the daily routine of traditional houses in small towns, pristine beaches and hospitable locals inventing limericks for you. Because of this, the phrase "Na s evro", to find yourself, is the first words the inhabitants will tell you.
Day 4: trip to Karpathos. Located on the eastern Aegean arch of islands, which connects the mountain ranges of the Pelopones with the Taurus Mountains in southwestern Turkey and at the same time represents the border of the Aegean Sea to the Mediterranean Sea. A bare, partially pine-covered mountain range runs through the island from north to the middle of the island. To the south it becomes hilly at first, flat in the far south.
Day 5: our destination today is Nisiros a rugged and barren volcanic island whose main attraction is the big volcano crater. You can "commit" the volcano inside the volcano and "experience" sulfur flags or find hot springs. Also worth a visit is the picturesque village of Nikia on the hand of the volcano from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view.
Day 6: Departure to Tilos an island for lovers of peace, little excitement and originality. The few hundred inhabitants are extremely hospitable and lovable. As everywhere you can enjoy the good Greek food and visit by moped or excursion to the island. The landscape of the island is densely overgrown with maquis and shrubs, lips and hilltop figures. The small pebble beaches mostly hidden and usually only accessible by hiking trails or by boat. . Pure nature and typical Greek, a must for Greece lovers.
Day 7: Halki a smaller island in the Dodecanese, just 10 km from Rhodes. The island is very barren, almost a desert. There are hardly any sights. In ancient times, as in Kalymnos, the inhabitants lived from sponge diving. However, this industry has almost come to a standstill.
Stop in Nimporio: The sun drenched two- and three-story houses of the picturesque village with its colorful walls and tiled roofs look like little boats anchored in the bay. Stroll the streets and enjoy the delicious smells from the ovens that each house is equipped to bake bread and the famous "makarounia" of Halki, handmade pasta that is laid out to dry in the sun. . See the church of Agios Nikolaos, the patron saint of the island, with the majestic tower and the wooden carved icon wall, and take a deep breath in their ornate, cobbled courtyard with the traditional "hohlakia", the beach pebbles. A walk through Nimporio fills your heart with peaceful thoughts and unutterable joy.
Day 8: Final stop Rhodes The largest island in the Dodecanese and the fourth largest in Greece. On the east coast of Rhodes, are located the most beautiful beaches of the island. One of my favorite places is undoubtedly Rhodes Town. It is the most northern point of the unique island city with its own charm. Whether shopping, sunbathing on the beach, discovering culture in museums or the vibrant afterlife in the old town: Rhodes town offers incredibly great opportunities for tourists.

Other important information
The second route is similar to the first one, the main changes
in the itinerary are during the second and third night.
Day 2: our journey continues to Astipalea Above Chora is a Venetian castle which is particularly worth seeing. It was built in the 13th century by the Querini and rebuilt after being destroyed by pirate raids during the reestablishment in the early 15th century.
Outside the castle wall is the church "Maria Himmelspfnerin" from the 18th century. It is considered one of the most beautiful churches in the Dodecanese. The village of Maltezana has remains of a Roman bath with well-preserved mosaics.
Countless votive chapels date from Byzantine times. Tourism is underdeveloped on this remote island, which has only narrow pebbly beaches. The main income of the islanders are the cheese economy (goat and sheep cheese), the cultivation of citrus fruits and fishing (including lobster).
Day 3: travel to Levita the coast of the island is very rugged, on the south side there are two larger bays, which provide natural anchorages protection from the northern winds and are therefore popular with sailors. The typical plants of the Macchia and Phrygana determine the landscape. On the island lives a family that tries to align their lives with ecological behavior, combining traditional living and cultivation methods with the use of renewable energies.
For self-sufficiency, they run agriculture and keep some goats, a photovoltaic system is the power supply. Levitha is part of the Natura 2000 site, as it is home to monk seals, Caspian pink turtles and four-strip snakes, and is also classified as part of the Important Bird Area GR 163 Kinaros and Levitha Islands and Rocky Islets, as the islands of Eleonora hawks and coral gulls are nesting sites be visited.
