Pontine Islands Italy

Pontine islands: a must-see for your sailing holidays

A long spring weekend will be enough to experience them but you will go back there for sure for a longer holiday on a sailing boat: Pontine Islands… Ponza, the larger one, which is connected to Zannone by an isthmus, then Ventotene, Santo Stefano, Palmarola and finally Gavi, the smallest and jagged island.

The restaurants located in the typical village of Ponza are very famous, there you will be served typical fresh fish dishes from ancient recipes. Ponza has a lively soul, and many people from the near italian region Lazio go there to spend the weekend, where nightlife goes hand in hand with pool dips in Cala Feola and aperitifs on sailing boats at Frontone beach.

When you’re on a sailing boat, you will be free to circumnavigate Ponza and drop anchor in front of Chiaia di Luna, one of the most wonderful shores of Mediterranean sea, visible only from the sea for now. If you love diving, the protected area of Ventotene and Santo Stefano will be your perfect destination.

These are the last sailors that have travelled in Pontine Islands.
