  Business Development Manager


At this stage of important growth, we are looking for a talented Business Development Manager willing to employ his/her own skills in our Marketing team.

The mission of our future Business Development Manager is to create and develop communication and co-marketing projects, sponsorships and partnerships at a local and international level, cooperating with other members of the Marketing and Communication Team.
He/she will report directly to the CMO, defining and performing the growth strategy, in order to develop our community even more faster.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and developing business opportunities (sponsorships, partnerships and co-marketing activities) in Italy and abroad;
  • Developing communication projects with consumer brands in order to increase sailsquare’s brand awareness;
  • Participating to growth strategy synergistically with other Marketing and Communications functions;
  • Managing marketing budget dedicated to Business Development activities;
  • Constantly planning the activities, measuring the main KPI;
  • Selecting and managing external suppliers and partners.

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • A person endowed with excellent planning and creative skills, who is able to develop and manage complex projects in cutting edge contexts;
  • Someone with the attitude to manage priorities and time independently, responsibly and efficiently;
  • Able to work under pressure in international and highly innovative contexts;
  • Someone with at least 3 years of experience in roles of new business development;
  • Someone with a background in new media/marketing companies or big companies b2c playing a marketing/biz dev role;
  • Speaks and writes fluently in English and Italian mother tongue;
  • Someone with many useful contacts in his/hers personal and professional networks;
  • Owns excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Very goal-driven, ambitious and not afraid to keep raising the bar on KPI.

  Country Manager France


France is one of the main target markets in our internationalisation process. To this purpose, we are hiring a Country Manager who is french mother tongue, ambitious, creative and highly oriented to results; he/she truly believes in our project and is determined to make sailsquare the benchmark for nautical tourism in France.

The mission of our future Country Manager is to obtain sailsquare's rapid expansion by the french audience, identifying and developing opportunities of local business and working in concert with marketing and communication depts. The Country Manager will be based in Paris.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing sailsquare community in France;
  • Arranging and managing local marketing budget and measuring the results of the activities that have been launched;
  • Working in close contact with our marketing team for the development and launch of marketing campaigns and activities;
  • Identifying and developing business opportunities in this market (sponsorships, partnerships and co-marketing activities);
  • Constantly analyzing and monitoring the evolution of the nautical market in France, highlighting opportunities and threats;
  • Establishing and maintaining relations with media and influencers of the area, representing sailsquare on a local basis;
  • Supporting "Skipper Operations" team in scouting and recruiting local skippers;
  • Making sure that communication used on the platform and social media channels are effective when matched with local target needs.

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Is French mother tongue and fluent english speaking;
  • has at least 3-year-experience in new business development roles;
  • Owns a wide network of personal and professional contacts;
  • Is a passionate sailor with a good knowledge of nautical market in France;
  • Possesses a good knowledge of the main techniques/tools of web marketing and social media management;
  • Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Is creative, proactive and shows an entrepreneurial attitude;
  • Is very goal-driven, ambitious and not afraid to raise the bar on KPI’s all the time.

Senior Backend Developer


As Senior Backend Developer, you'll be responsible for developing most of the core features of our application, while ensuring performance, scalability and reliability of the platform. You will be part of a distributed team that uses an agile approach, eager to try new things and learn from the experience, and to build great products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Tech Lead to define the overall architecture, choose the technology solutions and guidelines to be used or implemented;
  • Develop new and maintain existing backend services to ensure they are efficient, reliable and secure;
  • Pro-actively enhance our web platform;
  • Explore new methodologies and technologies, weigh their pros and cons and share your insights within the team.

The ideal candidate for this position is:

  • Someone with proven track record and hands-on knowledge of development of modern custom web applications (2-4 years of relevant experience);
  • Has considerable development experience with web frameworks and languages;
  • Uses testing methodologies;
  • Someone who has the ability to inspire, motivate and support people, and uses the word ‘we’ a lot more often than ‘I’;
  • Passionate about writing beautiful, clean, maintainable code (being also passionate about sailing is a strong plus), understanding the balance between scrappiness and long-term code maintainability;
  • Able to wear multiple hats, including integration with front end roles and devops;
  • Nice to have: experience with PHP - Symfony
  • A lover of open‑source software and open standards in wider terms;

  Skipper Operations Specialist.


As Skipper Operations Specialist, your responsibility will be to assure the highest service level to our skippers network.
Your main tasks will include multilingual support via email, live chat and telephone providing support to boat-owning skippers all the way through the application process, onboarding and listing their experiences on the platform.
This is a business development position that will make you an active member of the Operations team, bringing you to share strategies and objectives: it is a central and critical role in developing the offer side of the platform, which is based on enlarging the base of boat-owning skippers and their retention, thanks to an excellent support service.
The successful performance of the Operations team activity is closely related with the continuous improvement of the experience of thousands of people which every year choose sailsquare for their holidays at sea.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure an high support service level to skippers;
  • Take active part to boat-owning skippers recruiting process;
  • Interact with skippers on a daily basis, understanding their needs and solving problems quickly;
  • Take part on the definition of the recruiting marketing strategy, and directly execute part of the online and offline marketing activities.

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Speaks french as native language and speaks English fluently;
  • Shows a strong passion for startups and business development;
  • Has a positive and proactive mentality; social attitude, creativity and a strong curiosity are a must;
  • Has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a strong customer orientation;
  • Works daily with Google Apps suite (Gmail, Gdocs, Gtalk, etc.) and has a basic practice knowledge of Photoshop (or other image editing tools);
  • Is extremely well organized;

Nice to have:

  • A degree in foreign languages, economics or law;
  • The ability to produce high-quality written content for marketing and communication purposes;
  • Knowledge of a third language (starting from Italian, German, Spanish or Greek).
