A sailing holiday: discovering the Pontine Islands

Fantastic experience! Fabio is a competent and attentive skipper, both to the weather conditions and to the needs of the group. He guided us between Palmarola, Ponza and Ventotene to discover beautiful bays and caves, also involving us in the maneuvers and handling of the boat and making us live the sailing experience to the fullest! The only flaw is the space: the boat is small and has only one bathroom, so in 6 plus the skipper it is a bit cramped.

Wonderful experience... I got along well both with the skipper Fabio who was very good and very kind and with the others in the group. To be repeated!

7 days and 7 nights not really. Appointment at the port of Nettuno at 5 pm on August 22nd, short planning for the management and purchase of food (which we had to take care of the crew) and preparation of dinner on the boat and night in port, I would not consider it the first day of vacation on a sailing boat. The last day ended on August 28 due to force majeure, that is, to avoid the last night on a boat in the port of Nettuno, now exhausted from spending sleepless nights. Unfortunately, the experience on a sailboat or rather with that type of sailboat not suitable for accommodating 7 people in a sufficiently comfortable way, was not positive. The narrow cabins, the sweltering heat, the very limited space, contributed to the discomfort we had to face on this sailing holiday. The worst thing is the impossibility of sleeping comfortably enough in one's accommodations, I no longer have the age of a kid, 67 years old, I was assigned the narrowest cabin of the boat positioned aft next to the engine, it resembled a real niche where I had to lie down to enter it, while another larger and more "welcoming" central cabin was free, but it was preferred for warehouse use. Skipper Antonio is a good person, an expert in the sea with a lot of experience and we have established, right from the start, a good captain/crew relationship. I got on very well with the crew, made up mainly of 4 underage girls, and 2 adults, all fantastic, caring to make me feel at ease and above all with a smile, thank you. If there had been a crew contrary to what I have mentioned above, it would have been a nightmare holiday. Fortunately everything went well, snorkeling, diving and short freediving in a spectacular landscape contributed to the success of the holiday. This was my first experience - this is the most appropriate term to describe the holiday - and it certainly teaches that before accepting and buying a sailing holiday package, you need to delve into every technical/logistical aspect to avoid incurring experiences that leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
