Both sailing instructors, in 2020 we decided to take the plunge and buy our own boat, on which we spend several months a year. Pierre, a ski and snowboard instructor, takes care almost exclusively of running the boat, as well as a large part of its maintenance and tuning. He is in charge of all the related choices and tasks. You will often see him consulting the weather and nautical charts to decide our routes and the best places for day and night stops. Don't ask him to cook, he only does it when he can't help it, albeit successfully (he says...). A lifelong sportsman, he loves to swim, loves the cold and will therefore be in the shade more often. On land he always just wears a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, even when we humans wear jumpers. He has travelled the length and breadth of almost the entire Mediterranean and had some experience beyond the Pillars of Hercules, but decided that he likes the Mediterranean better, so in recent years he has been devoting himself to southern Italy and our beautiful islands. Federica, sporty but not like Pierre, I love to swim but can't stand the cold, so I often go back on board before him (even when I have my wetsuit on). I love scuba diving, although I rarely manage it. I am the sailor, I will be with you in the kitchen and do everything I can to make you feel good! Sometimes I have commander's ambitions... but you know: there is only one commander on board, so I retire in good order, not without expressing my ideas. If they are good, you can see it on Pierre's face. Sailing from north to south more than a few times, I know the Italian and neighbouring seas best, but beyond Gibraltar I have also been for a micro taste of the ocean. After the Italian islands I would like to go to Greece...will you be coming with us soon? Mia, the “veloira cat”, came on board when she was just 3 months old. She got to know the boat before she got to know the house, and she seems to feel at home on board... everywhere. During navigation she almost always stays below deck and sometimes, especially at sunset time, she goes up and sets up lookout. She is the little princess of the boat and is always adored by everyone because she is a very sweet and cuddly kitten. You just have to be careful when there is fish around: she goes crazy and jumps all over the place! We are two quiet people (and a cat), we love to eat well, we love sailing, we love peace and that's why we practically never have more than 4 people on board: so that everyone is guaranteed their own space, above and below deck.
