This experience, in a nutshell

Get ready to live a unique experience in one of the most iconic Italian places: the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Naples, accompanied by WWF researchers and expert guides. This cruise will take you to discover a sea rich in life, characterized by deep underwater escarpments that offer refuge to cetaceans such as bottlenose dolphins, coastal dolphins and sperm whales, making this area an ideal place for the observation and study of marine biodiversity.

We will sail to Capri, with its iconic stacks and hidden bays, and Ischia, famous for its crystal clear waters and volcanic seabed. Along the way, we will explore the protected bays of the Sorrento Peninsula, perfect for stops at anchor and to enjoy moments of relaxation immersed in a unique natural setting. Every corner of the Gulf tells the story of an extraordinary ecosystem, where land and sea meet in a fascinating balance.

The days on board will be shaped by the weather and sea conditions, making each itinerary special and different. You will be able to actively participate in scientific research activities, such as behavioral monitoring of cetaceans, nature photography and the use of tools such as GPS to collect data useful for conservation. There will also be opportunities to dive into the clear waters and discover suggestive corners such as Punta Campanella, the coves of Capri or the quiet landings of Ischia.

The atmosphere on board will be simple and convivial: you will be an integral part of the crew, sharing not only the passion for the sea, but also the daily tasks, such as cooking or tidying up, to fully experience the spirit of collaboration and adventure.

Join us to explore the Gulf of Naples and the Amalfi Coast, a destination that combines the beauty of the Mediterranean with the possibility of making a concrete contribution to the protection of biodiversity. This journey will give you authentic emotions, new skills and a deeper connection with the sea and its inhabitants.

HIGHLIGHTS

Unique scientific experience: Direct participation in monitoring and research activities together with WWF guides, using non-invasive methods to observe and protect cetaceans in the Mediterranean, according to the rigorous standards of the High Quality Whale Watching certification, promoted by ACCOBAMBS and CIMA Foundation. These labels certify that all activities follow international guidelines, promoting species conservation and educating participants on the importance of protecting biodiversity.

Contact with wild nature: A journey in harmony with the marine environment, away from crowded places, to experience the Mediterranean in its authenticity and contribute to its conservation.

Sustainable sailing: The choice of sailboat aims to minimize the use of the engine (unless the marine weather conditions do not allow it), thus limiting emissions and noise pollution, for a more sustainable environmental impact. This choice represents a concrete commitment to responsible tourism that respects the marine environment.

Authentic and shared atmosphere: Spartan and collaborative life on board, with all participants involved in daily activities, for a travel experience that combines adventure, conviviality and a spirit of adaptation.

Education and active involvement
The experience is not just passive observation: participants are actively involved in on-board activities and scientific research, developing skills in nature photography, monitoring and sampling. This involvement allows us to create a deep connection with the marine environment, promoting greater awareness regarding biodiversity conservation.

Navigation and life on board
A sailing cruise means having the sea just a dive away, even first thing as soon as you wake up, it means having an aperitif always watching sunset, dining under the stars and enjoying moments of pure fun and relaxation.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY OF THE EXPERIENCE
Easy, suitable for everyone.

OUR SKIPPER
The skipper of this experience will be Rocco B. (click on his name to read reviews left by other travellers). A sailor before being a skipper, he cannot do without the sea as well as sharing his passion with his family but also with new friends he met on board.

Whale watching cruise with WWF guide between Tuscany and Northern Corse

The holiday experience was really pleasant, despite some unforeseen events. The skill and prudence of the skipper, together with the sympathy and competence of the WWF guide, allowed me to live this experience, my very first on a sailboat, always with a smile and the certainty of being in good hands. Initially, a trip to Corsica was planned, but the weather conditions took us to Elba and Capraia, both wonderful views from the sea. The lessons were extremely interesting and our guide, with infinite patience, answered my every question, curiosity or even "madness" about the inhabitants of the sea and the land. Although we were not lucky enough to spot cetaceans, the holiday was still a wonderful experience. The travel companions were always available and collaborative, creating a nice group, and the week flew by I can't wait to do it again! As already mentioned, perhaps being at 7 pm to go shopping has forced us to do things in a hurry, thinking of putting the meeting time for 5 pm could help to make the food and dinner more calmly.

Wonderful holiday, it will always remain in our hearts. Despite the unfavorable weather, the mood was always sky-high thanks to our fantastic guide and our formidable skipper who always found convenient solutions for the whole crew. PS: I loved the lessons and learned so many great things. I couldn't have imagined it better as a holiday. Thank you. Elena 11 years old

I am satisfied with the cruise, despite the weather conditions were sometimes prohibitive, and despite the fact that we saw nothing of cetaceans, nor practically anything even of birdlife. The skipper has always made the right and prudent decisions regarding navigation, and has shown that he knows how to solve the situation, despite the fact that everything has happened to us: trap in the propeller, wind and wave always contrary in the crossings, breakage of the reef line, halyard stuck on the winch and mooring line stuck on a plank on the quay with a crosswind. The only drawbacks: the cleanliness of the boat a little lacking immediately, the evening boarding and consequent expense for the galley at 19:30, after a day of travel (I would recommend anticipating boarding to 1/2 afternoon to do the galley with a little calm). It would also have been nice to be able to do a little more sailing, but it was not possible because understandably priority was given to cetacean monitoring, and therefore to reach the observation spots in the shortest possible time (and the intensity and direction of the wind did not allow it)

It was a beautiful and enriching experience. Excellent travel companions for professionalism and company. Sailing with a group of dolphins and meeting turtles was exciting. The skipper Rocco, a gentleman, and our guide Flavia passionate and exciting, The only flaw was not having considered many hours of navigation, 6/7 minimum per day in the open sea. My 6-year-old daughter was with me and perhaps not having the company of other children it was very difficult for her to adapt. But thanks to the care and attention to all the needs and patience of everyone, with some changes to the itinerary, it was possible to contain it.
