About me

Lorenzo, born in Genoa in 1963, holds a degree in Music Studies from the DAMS Faculty of the University of Bologna and is a professional educator. He combines his work as a musicologist and music critic with his passion for sailing.
Since 1986, he has developed numerous educational projects related to the sea and sailing, particularly through the association he has chaired since 2006. Since 2019, he has also served on the board of the Italian Union for Social Sailing (Unione Italiana Vela Solidale). He was responsible for the practical section of the nautical license course at the Italian Yacht Club.
Together with Emanuela, he has owned the sailing boat on which they have been organizing sailing holidays and cruises since 2007. Both are experienced skippers: sometimes they sail together, while at other times they take turns leading the trips.
Emanuela, born in 1961 and also originally from Genoa, worked as an educator during the 1980s. After postgraduate studies in Paris, she founded a social research and communication company. She has also been actively involved in several social sailing projects through the same association. Later, she served as Councillor for Social Welfare, Health and Housing Policies for the City of Genoa.
Until then, sailing had been a passion pursued in her spare time. Since 2017, she has left her commitments in Genoa to devote herself almost entirely to the sea, both above and below the surface (sailing and freediving), living mainly on the island of Lampedusa.
What Lorenzo and Emanuela love most is spending time at sea—preferably under sail—exploring islands, especially the smaller ones, discovering their coastlines and natural landscapes, meeting the people who live there, and sharing with their guests the unique experience of life on a small island surrounded by the sea.
Their aim is to offer each crew an immersive experience in nature, far from crowded marinas, noise, and dockside aperitifs.

My experience

Lorenzo began sailing in 1972 with dinghy courses (Optimist and Laser) and has been sailing offshore yachts since 1985. He has logged more than 40,000 nautical miles, mainly in the Mediterranean, with limited Atlantic experience along the Gibraltar–Canary Islands route.
Emanuela, on the other hand, discovered her passion for the sea as a teenager through windsurfing before becoming the owner of her first cruising sailboat in 1994.
Our sailing journeys crossed paths and came together in 2007, when we became co-owners of our current boat. For many years, our boat spent the winters in Genoa and the summers in Lampedusa. Sailing between Genoa and Lampedusa allowed us to explore every possible route, getting to know and fall in love with all the islands of the Tyrrhenian Sea, especially the smaller ones.
For the past few years, we have chosen to stay in the southern Mediterranean, sailing mainly between Sicily, Malta, Linosa, Lampedusa and Tunisia.
By combining our sailing expertise with our educational and social experience, we have developed numerous social sailing projects, particularly aimed at supporting young people facing difficult situations.

Lampedusa, Linosa and Lampione, islands on the high seas

Beautiful experience, super experienced skipper! The islands of Lampedusa and Linosa are enchanting and the skipper Lorenzo is 10 out of 10: he has a great deal of experience and knows the place perfectly. It made us experience a beautiful and different holiday than usual, despite the weather was not totally on our side (very hot week and incessant sirocco). The only constructive criticism goes to the [hidden] boat: it is rather dated and the spaces on board are a bit tight. There were 9 of us in total (7 guests + skipper and assistant skipper), perhaps a little too high for the type of boat. Reducing the number of participants would greatly improve comfort. Apart from that, the holiday remains absolutely recommended and promoted with flying colors for the itinerary and management!

Not just a sailing holiday, but an idea of a holiday. Lorenzo is an experienced skipper and above all he knows everyone a bit. More than Lampedusa, I was surprised by Linosa, an island of strong contrasts and less touristy, decidedly beautiful.

Here is the second updated version with the name of the [hidden] boat and without the blank spaces between the paragraphs (immediately wrapping after the dots): Seven dream days on [hidden] with authentic professionals! Wonderful week in Lampedusa and Linusa aboard [hidden] with Lorenzo and Federica. Lorenzo is an excellent owner and sailor, endowed with a true and genuine kindness that makes you feel immediately at home. Federica was a fantastic guide and help skipper. Continuous attention, exquisite seafood cuisine and a total immersion in the local culture thanks to their contacts and their knowledge of the place. Extraordinary value for money for the level of service and experiences offered. Highly recommended!

An exceptional holiday/experience. We had a great time with Emanuela (Manu) and the whole group. We couldn't have asked for more. For those interested in knowing a little more. We traveled with my partner (English) and this is our fourth boat experience with a group of "strangers" (at the beginning). The first with Manu. The boat is spacious and well equipped. We eat very well and help a little (but this was an opportunity for us to make a group and feel useful). You can learn a bit of sailing. The places are beautiful and there are also cultural opportunities and exchanges of ideas, if you feel like it. The atmosphere is as if you were with long-time friends (constructive, fun and absolutely not formal). We would leave tomorrow too...
