About me

I was born in Genoa in 1963, graduated in Musical Disciplines at the Dams of Bologna, and is a professional educator. I alternate my activity as a musicologist and music critic with that of a sailor. I have carried out many educational projects related to the sea and sailing from '86 to today. I have collaborated with the Mattiperlavela association, iTetragonauti, Fondazione Tender To Nave Italia and in particular Nonsolovela onlus of which I have been president since 2006. Since 2019 I have been on the board of the Italian Solidarity Sailing Union. I was responsible for the practical part of the nautical license course of the Italian Yacht Club. I like to go to sea, possibly sailing, mainly between islands, preferably small, explore the coasts and nature on land, get to know the people who live there, share with them the unique experience of living in a small land surrounded by the sea. We offer the crews to share an experience of immersion in nature, escaping noise and aperitifs in the dock.

My experience

Course drift at LNI since 1972 (Optimist, Laser). I have been sailing on offshore boats since 1985. I have 40,000 miles to my credit mainly in the Mediterranean (in the Atlantic, limited route Gibraltar, Canary Islands). I sail every year from Genoa to Lampedusa along Corsica Sardinia Strait of Sicily or along the route of the smaller islands (Tuscan, Pontine, Phlegraean, Aeolian, Messina Strait, Malta, Gozo, Linosa, Lampedusa. I have carried out many sports, social and training projects as a member of the nonSoloVela onlus association belonging to the Italian Union of Solidarity Sailing.

A beautiful destination, with sublime nature. An extremely friendly crew that made this week unforgettable. Only one crew member was present on board (instead of 2, as mentioned in the offer). A second arrived on Wednesday evening (2 days before the disembarkation, but Lorenzo confirmed that she had no role on the boat). We sailed safely, the food was excellent, However, Lorenzo, the skipper of the boat, clearly lacks empathy and communication, both during the maneuvers and for life on board. In terms of hygiene, the boat was never cleaned during the week, fruits and vegetables were even rotting in the boat...

A wonderful experience immersed in nature that skippers Lorenzo and Emanuela were able to make us enjoy from start to finish with extreme availability, managing the itinerary very well, weather permitting, and making us enjoy places far from mass tourism, despite the high season. A week to discover incredible views that only Lampedusa and Linosa are able to offer, enriched by the excellent food that the skippers have prepared, mainly using raw materials and local products. The opportunity we had on the way back from Linosa to get in touch with the aquatic fauna, with the sighting of dolphins and sea turtles, was fantastic. In summary, a wonderful week absolutely recommended especially for those who want a period of complete detachment from the city frenzy!

An experience that will remain in my heart for the harmony that was immediately established with the skippers, always kind and helpful. The food on board was excellent and the management of the spaces was always tolerant of the needs of the guests. Needless to say the beauty of the places and the nature that surrounded us, but I would like to dedicate a point of merit to Lorenzo, who - especially on one occasion (at the "Fili" in Linosa) took us swimming to a splendid hidden cave, which we would never have seen without his guide. Emanuela has also always been super available to meet our needs, a really lovely person. The social slant that the two skippers have given to the holiday is beautiful, taking us to places far from ordinary tourism and introducing us to sometimes touching realities, such as the first aperitif on land. In short, a holiday absolutely recommended!
