Velista fin dall'infanzia sui laghi svizzeri. 1999-2000 corso presso il noto UKSA a Cowes per acquisire Yachtmasder offshore. 2005 a Leer per ottenere un diploma in ingegneria marittima, lunga navigazione su navi container, navi da crociera, traghetti e Hurtigruten come ufficiale di guardia e capitano.
