This experience, in a nutshell

This Docecaneso itinerary takes you to enchanted places, not at all touristy and rich in history.

The Dodecanese islands are the distant islands and this has left them more peaceful and authentic.

These are the Greek islands where we Italians have left a good memory and it will often happen to have the opportunity to exchange a few words with the old people of the place in Italian or to hear them say "Italians - Greeks one face one race" just to proudly underline the similarity between the two peoples.

We will sail every day to a different island to explore bays with clear seas and have fun in the sun and sea.

If there is a prevailing wind, the sailings will be upwind to go up to the north and downwind the last days to return to the disembarkation point.

A sailing cruise that is easy even for the less experienced, relaxing at sea and discovering quiet bays and beautiful villages.

The itinerary can be either in the North Dodecanese Islands or in the South Dodecanese Islands.

Leg 1

Kalymnos

Embarkation is in the late afternoon and marks the official start of your sailing holiday.

Once aboard the Walkabout, your sailboat for this week, we will enthusiastically welcome you and show you your new houseboat. After settling in and getting acquainted with the boat, we'll gather for dinner on board, where you can enjoy delights prepared by your skippers and toast to the start of a new adventure.

With the evening breeze and harbor lights as a backdrop, a stroll along the Kalymnos waterfront is ideal for soaking up the island's atmosphere. It is a place full of liveliness and cheerfulness, where tourists and locals mix harmoniously. A perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.

Kalymnos

Leg 2

Disputed bay

Immediately after you've recharged your batteries with a good breakfast, it's time to set sail! With the bow heading north, we will have fun with the dynamics of upwind. This is the time when guests on board, whether experienced or novices, can try their hand at tacking and learn the secrets of sailing.

The north wind will take us to a lonely bay where a swim in the clearest waters imaginable will await us. The clarity of the water invites us not only to a refreshing dip but also to discover the fascinating underwater world that lurks just below the surface.

Once relaxed and regenerated, a lunch awaits us on board with fresh and genuine dishes. Afterwards, the afternoon is all to be experienced with a shore excursion.

As the sun sets, the sky gives us a palette of colors that gradually gives way to the nocturnal spectacle of the stars.

Leg 3

Leros

Our sail today takes us to Leros, an island that encapsulates the history and tranquility typical of the Dodecanese.

When we arrive in Leros, we'll take a break in nature with a stop in one of its charming bays.

In the afternoon, we anchor in Pandeli Bay, famous for its cozy atmosphere and the wonderful scenery that decorates it: windmills dotting the hills and a castle watching over it from above. Here, Pandeli shows itself with simplicity, a fishing village with an inviting beach of yellow sand and small pebbles.

For those who love physical activity there is the possibility of a nice walk in the evening. You can climb along the path that leads to the castle, passing by the picturesque windmills, and enjoy one of the most fascinating views of the archipelago at sunset.

And while the sky turns pink and orange, the mills and the castle light up, giving us a memorable sight.

Leros

Leg 4

Lipsi

The sun rises on a new day of adventure and our route is oriented towards the wonderful Lipsi. Known for its charming village and its many bays with crystal clear water, Lipsi is a piece of paradise waiting to be explored.

The morning sees us sailing, and while the wind pushes us, we keep our eyes wide open in an attempt to spot the marine mammals that inhabit these waters: dolphins and monk seals of the Mediterranean. These encounters are moments of pure happiness.

The village of Lipsi itself is a treasure to be discovered, with its narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed houses that stand out against the blue of the sea and embellished with colorful bougainvillea. Tranquility pervades every street, every square, allowing us to savor island life at a gently slowed pace.

Lipsi

Leg 5

Patmos

Patmos, known as the island of the Apocalypse, exerts a magnetism that goes beyond the beauty of its landscape. It is here that St. John is said to have written the last book of the Bible, the Apocalypse. The famous Cave of the Apocalypse, where the saint heard the divine voice coming from a crack in the rock, and on which the famous monastery of St. John stands is just one of the many reasons that attract travelers.

Landing on the island proves to be a timeless experience. The beaches are an invitation to relax and enjoy the sea, while the village, with its narrow streets rich in history, invites us to get lost in its picturesque corners. But it is the almost mystical atmosphere that surrounds Patmos that makes it a unique place.

We will visit the majestic monastery that is located at the top of the island from where it is impossible not to feel touched by the impressive architecture and the breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea that can be admired from its highest point.

Patmos

Leg 6

Lakki

The sixth day on board gives us moments of pure morning relaxation in the bay. Surrounded by the beauty of Patmos, we lull ourselves between crystal clear water and rays of sunshine, enjoying calm and peace in a quiet shelter of the island.

After absorbing enough solar energy and cooling off with a few dips in the waters around us, we get ready for a pleasant sail to Lakki, the main port of Leros. With the wind in our sails pushing us, the sailboat glides and glides over the waves in a perfect harmony of nature and adventure.

Arriving in Lakki, we are immediately greeted by a unique mix of past and present. This town, born in the 30s, boasts a rationalist architecture that makes it a point of interest not only for history lovers, but in particular for architects.

Lakki

Leg 7

Kalymnos

The seventh day of your sailing holiday in the Dodecanese will take you to Kalymnos, propelled by the force of the wind on the beautiful puffy sails in the stern. This fascinating island is famous among free climbers for its breathtaking rock walls and we will drop anchor in a bay famous among sport climbing enthusiasts.

In the late afternoon return to the island's main port, where you'll find a lively atmosphere, with a variety of restaurants and cafes where you can relax and take a break from the sea.

For dinner, you can't miss the opportunity to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in a typical tavern on the island. Delicious traditional dishes, such as moussaka, tzatziki and souvlaki, are waiting to delight your palate. Be captivated by the warmth of Greek hospitality and authentic flavors as you spend an unforgettable evening in the company of your new friends.

Kalymnos

Leg 8

Last day

After breakfast we are at the least beautiful moment of the cruise: the greetings, the wish to take with you the good memories of the holiday spent on our boat and the promise to see you again soon.

Grazie Mille Annalisa e Lorenzo e sicuramente a presto

One way cruise from Santorini to Paros via Small Cyclades
