This experience, in a nutshell

The Barcolana is a festival of the sea for everyone, beginners and experts . Our sporty and competitive boat will give us great satisfaction like every year in this competition.
It is the most famous and popular regatta in the world : it takes place not only at sea, but also on land with events, shows and live music. The waterfront is full of stands where you can taste delicious Carso and Collio wines as well as other typical local products such as fresh salami, hams and cheeses. It will be a weekend of laughter, jokes and celebrations as well as racing and adventure.

Day 1
Boarding on Friday afternoon in Monfalcone / Trieste (based on the regulations of the harbor master's office) where a relaxing moment will await us to get to know everyone, but above all to get to know the boat, especially for those who have not yet been on a boat in sailing. In the afternoon, a small galley will be made at the supermarket near the marina. It will be like this in the evening where, after taking a seat in your cozy cabin (as indicated by the skipper), you will have a delicious dinner in the center of fascinating Trieste.

Day 2
Saturday will be almost entirely dedicated to the first outing by boat with all the participants for a test race, to become familiar with the sea of the Gulf and the sporty boat that will accompany us in this Barcolana 52. That thrill of the wind in your hair it will make you experience unique emotions but the moment of strong emotion of the most beautiful regatta of all has not yet arrived. We will return to the marina and we will be ready to experience the Barcolana ashore on the seafront, before a hearty dinner to accumulate energy for Sunday.

Day 3
After a restful sleep here we are on the big day! We will have breakfast and we will go to the starting line with so much adrenaline to download during the competition: everyone is there, the sailing champions next to the Sunday rowers, family or friends crews who compete with America's Cup boats. When the cannon fired from the Faro della Vittoria, which will kick off the magnificent regatta, the city will become a real sailing stadium. At the end of the regatta we will move towards the marina on the way back to say goodbye nostalgic goodbye. Disembarkation will be in Monfalcone / Trieste (based on the regulations of the harbor master's office). At the end of this beautiful adventure we can say I was there too!

The experience was correct, nothing to say, but A little bored, it went down to land a little, luckily we had good weather, and no incident, in the food there was a lack of fish and being in the sea this was missing. Excellent attention from Patricia from Sailsquare.

The stay went well thanks to the other crew members, the sun and the transparent sea that were there. I was very surprised and uncomfortable by the attitude of the captain, who gave us a very cold welcome always fixed on his phone, who understands and speaks very little English and rarely takes the trouble to translate what he says into English or to ensure that it is done by someone else, so he addressed himself almost exclusively in Spanish to the men of the boat, (as if the people who did not speak Spanish were not there), by his disrespectful manner of addressing the members of his team, who always remained patient and devoted, and by the fact that it offers few alternatives to the fact that the weather does not allow us to visit the planned points in Ibiza. This attitude that I deplore had an impact on the overall atmosphere and the quality of the stay.

There would be a lot of things to say indeed when I see the other opinions 1) the boat: it corresponds to the one on the sheet but it is not new as the photos suggest; It is certainly comfortable but the sails are really old and some equipment should be reviewed 2) Captain Angelo: he is certainly experienced but probably worn out by 10 years of charter: welcome on the first day limited to the strict minimum (no welcome drink, unrolled list of rules, some of which are absurd), no real desire to sail unless he is expressly asked or if he is pointed out that there is enough wind, lack of transparency on the real consumption of diesel, inappropriate attitude towards the single women of the boat, mistreatment of his crew member Paul who was exhausted by 3 months of living with the captain 3) crew: some were more there to eat and drink than to sail, I was in the 2nd category; I found it strange that the ship's box did not take this into account because clearly we did not have the same alcohol consumption, not to mention what was left at the end of the navigation and which should have been deducted; So indeed the atmosphere was not good; As far as the toilets are concerned, yes they were clogged by me (misunderstanding the instructions) and I cleaned them which is normal 4) navigation: it was limited to the strict minimum, on the second day there was 15 knots of wind and we stayed at anchor for 24 hours doing only a quarter of an hour on the engine to change location; no consultation was made with the crew; It is not possible to participate in anything about the operation of the boat

Beautiful experience ! The boat was spotlessly clean and organized. The captain was very competent and helpful, very organized to the point of resembling a woman 😂😂 We are amazed by Sandrine's review as she boasts the experience of 10 cruises but something does not add up as her group threw toilet paper in the toilet (clogging 2 bathrooms and precluding others from using it) and making improper use of the water as if they were at home, forcing the captain to call them back, only for the common good of the whole crew. The commander was never rude to anyone, he simply asked for respect for the rules that also applied to himself. Unfortunately, the sea was not favorable. But the commander certainly cannot be blamed for this. Top experience! Camilla - Tarcisio - Monica
