This experience, in a nutshell

Sail in one of the most spectacular corners of the Mediterranean: a place where islands immersed in the blue, wild bays inaccessible from land will surprise you with their extraordinary colors.

On board our brand new Bavaria 46, with 4 cabins, 4 bathrooms and all the comforts for a perfect cruise, we will explore a true paradise. We will sail through the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Teulada, Carloforte and Sant'Antioco, crossing scenarios that look like paintings.

The waters around the islands of San Pietro and Sant'Antioco, famous for their clarity and purity, are home to incredibly rich and varied marine flora and fauna. We will stop in Carloforte, a charming Genoese village in Sardinia known for the tradition of tuna fishing and its delicious typical recipes.

Our adventure starts from the port of Teulada, a town with a rural tradition immortalized in "Life goes like this" easily accessible from Cagliari, the beating heart of Sardinia, well connected to the rest of Italy. From here, we will sail to dream places: the white beaches of Porto Pino and Tueredda, the secret bays of Cala Zafferano and Cala Piombo. Every corner tells stories of an authentic world where the sea and rural tradition meet in perfect harmony, corners of paradise that have strenuously resisted mass tourism, villages where Sardinian tradition has maintained its authenticity.

During the trip, there will be no shortage of opportunities to taste the typical products of Southern Sardinia, immersed in an atmosphere of conviviality and relaxation.

Whether you simply want to enjoy a sailing holiday or get closer to the world of sailing, the skipper, FIV offshore sailing instructor, will be by your side to make this experience unforgettable.

Get ready to experience Sardinia like never before: nature, sea, traditions and an enchanting environment await you!

The close-knit group with which we sailed was the luck of this beautiful trip. Wonderful places, Manuel was also very good with the very rough sea that we encountered especially on the first day. What can I say? It also made us forget the lack of a table to eat out (the folding one is really a bit uncomfortable!). Lots of laughter and lots of special moments, what can I say? We will return but only if he is at the helm!

We enjoyed being back on a boat again (first time in over six years); seeing dolphins swim with the boat was a wonderful experience, we enjoyed being at the helm, meeting new people, seeing new places, swimming off the boat, the Italian food on the boat, and the French food a couple of evenings at restaurants. The trip wasn’t without its challenges. As two English people on a boat of Italian speakers, I was pleased to be able to speak some Italian but perhaps inevitably my 18 year old daughter found mealtimes hard as she was unable to understand or join in any of the conversations. It was good that the two boys were able to speak good English and one of them even French and the three youngest members of the group (which included my daughter) all got on well together. Federico is a very experienced sailor and the Bavaria is a sound sailing boat with a great swimming platform. I think Federico will feel more comfortable with his next crew of mostly young men and sailing to Sardinia. With our group he was tense quite a lot of the time and he seemed to favour the two 15 year old boys who were indeed a valuable asset to the group. However, even if women may be physically weaker, they can still become competent sailors. Our impression was that Federico didn’t believe this. There were a few minor boat issues which if resolved could have made for a more comfortable time on board: the toilet in our cabin was very hard to operate (I have sailed on many boats and have never experienced a boat toilet so hard to pump out - from the start it was difficult and only got worse throughout the trip); there were no boat cushions for use on deck; and no fans in the cabin - it was so hot at night being July in the South of France. My daughter was able to sleep on deck on a very thin camping mat provided by Federico but that wouldn’t have worked for me. I hope that my comments will be seen as constructive feedback rather than negative. For us personally we experienced highs and lows at different points of the trip. We will certainly not forget the sailing week or the people on board and overall as a crew of different nationalities we got on very well.
