This experience, in a nutshell

Do you like going to sea? With me you will not only take a vacation. As a sailing instructor I will convey to you what I know if you want to learn it, with the aim of thrilling you by sailing in the Tuscan archipelago.

Come and enjoy the crisp air. The sun that is just pleasure, sunrises and sunsets surprise you

and the intimacy of sharing the boat and the passion of going to sea.

Let yourself be surprised by the sensations you feel when you leave the mooring, sleep in the open sea, the chatter of the waves, the stories whispered by the wind and the colors of the sea.

For two days the destination is Elba, with more days also other islands of the Tuscan archipelago (see customize the holiday)

Boarding will be from the Marina Arcipelago Toscano, near Piombino.

The decision on the route always takes into account the marine weather forecast.,

If we spend the night at anchor near ports or moorings with the tender we can go down to visit small villages full of stories.

During the day we will try to swim and snorkel in the places where the sea is more sea.

I won't list the roadsteads that we will see, let yourself be surprised.

It is possible to customize the holiday, both in terms of dates and what to see. Contact me via sms for further your needs.

🚗 By car

Piombino can be reached by road from the A12 motorway network (Genoa-Rosignano) and via the SGC Florence-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI) for those coming from Florence; from the A1 continue towards Florence and take the FI-PI-LI. From the A12 exit at Rosignano or Vada and continue on the SS1 Aurelia southbound until the exits for Piombino; from the south (Rome) take the A12 northwards and take the SS1. Those coming from the interior of Tuscany can use the SR398 / SP to Venturina and continue towards Piombino center. From the city, a short taxi transfer or transfer to the marinas from which cruises depart. Approximate travel times: Pisa 1 h approximately, Florence 1 h 45–2 h, Rome 3 h 30–4 h depending on traffic.

🚆 By train

The nearest railway station is Piombino-Centro, connected to the Tyrrhenian line through Campiglia Marittima. Regional and interregional trains are operated by Trenitalia. Approximate times: from Pisa Centrale about 1 h 10–1 h 30 with a change in Campiglia Marittima, from Florence Santa Maria Novella about 2 h 15–2 h 45 with one or more changes, from Livorno about 40–60 min. From the Piombino–Centro station it is necessary to take a short taxi or walk to the marinas for boarding the cruises.

✈️ By plane

The nearest airports are Pisa Galileo Galilei (PSA) and Florence Peretola (FLR). From Pisa the transfer by road to Piombino center takes about 1 h–1 h 15, while by train from Pisa Centrale with change in Campiglia Marittima about 1 h 30–2 h. From Florence the transfer by road takes about 1 h 45–2 h 15, by train about 2 h 15–2 h 45 with a change in Campiglia Marittima. Both airports have car rental and taxi services. From the city of Piombino it is necessary to transfer to the marinas of embarkation.

⛴️ By ferry/hydrofoil

The tourist ports of Piombino offer connections with the Island of Elba, with direct lines to Portoferraio, Rio Marina and Cavo. The main operating companies are Moby, Toremar and Blu Navy; Average crossing times vary from 35 minutes to 1 hr 30, depending on the route and the type of vessel. The services include both vehicle and passenger-only boarding, with dedicated ticket offices and docks in the marinas.

Midweek weekend in Elba: sea, scents, colors

Beautiful experience. Following Ivo s instructions, we sailed for two days, contributing personally to the management of the boat. But above all we found a familiar and very pleasant environment discovering wonderful corners of Elba. The dinner at anchor in Porto Azzurro was a dream. Thank you Ivo for sharing a little bit of your life with us.

I had other experiences on a boat, but I never felt as comfortable right away as with Ivo. The love for the sea is contagious, you know, but it is the passion and competence with which he told us about the world of sailing that makes the difference: we went ashore with more nostalgia than I would have ever imagined. I would really like to get back on the boat with him for a new adventure

A beautiful experience, to be repeated. Thanks to Ivo, a very experienced skipper, available to teach those who want to learn the basics of sailing! Elba Island perfect for sailing, with its beautiful bays, plus Ivo adapted the route according to our preferences. Too bad for periods with little wind, but it is not to be taken into account.

It was a wonderful experience! Ivo has incredible experience and his passion for sailing is contagious. In addition, he generously shares his knowledge. On board I felt really in good hands. The bays of Elba that we visited were really beautiful and, thanks to the snorkeling equipment and SUP, we were able to explore them in various ways. Unfortunately, there was little wind, so we could only sail for a short time. On the other hand, we were lucky enough to spot a dolphin. Absolutely recommended!
