To reach Sami (Kefalonia) the most convenient option is to fly to Kefalonia Airport (EFL): from there you can get to Sami in about 30–45 minutes by taxi or private transfer.

Sami is also connected by ferry with other Ionian islands and mainland Greece (e.g. from Patras or Kyllini with arrival in Poros, from which Sami is about 20–30 minutes away). Upon arrival in Sami, the port is central and easily accessible on foot from the village: we will indicate the exact embarkation point in the days before departure.

It is advisable to travel light: especially in summer, bathing suits, T-shirts and shorts are almost exclusively used on the boat during the day. A sweatshirt and long pants for the evening may be sufficient in the middle of summer, something heavier is preferable in the cooler months, as well as a waterproof windbreaker in case of disrupted weather or while sailing. Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun, slippers/flip-flops to go ashore; If you want to wear shoes on board - especially useful in sailing maneuvers - they must have a white sole and be used only for the boat.

It can also be useful to have a small watertight container for your wallet/mobile phone with you, to use when you go ashore.

The use of a soft bag is required to carry the luggage, so that it can be easily stored. Rigid suitcases and trolleys should be avoided, difficult, if not impossible, to stow. A small backpack or beach bag can be useful for outings on land.
