Reference stations on the mainland are Carbonia and Iglesias, served by regional connections out of Cagliari; the train journey from Cagliari to Carbonia takes approximately 1-1.5 hours, while for Iglesias the times are comparable or slightly longer; from the stations it is possible to continue by local bus or taxi to Sant'Antioco/Calasetta with road transfers of varying duration, generally 30-60 minutes depending on the connection and the place of departure.

The nearest airport is Cagliari-Elmas (CAG), with domestic and international connections; The transfer by car or taxi from the airport to Calasetta usually takes 1 h 30-1 h 45; car rentals and ARST regional bus services are also available that connect the airport to Carbonia and the towns of Sulcis, from which you continue on the road to Sant'Antioco; alternative airports with longer transfer times are Alghero and Olbia, both several hours away by road.
