This experience, in a nutshell

The fundamental importance in the geological and naturalistic field is the reason why UNESCO, in 2000, included the Aeolian Islands in the "World Heritage List". For 200 years, in fact, the seven sisters of the archipelago (Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi, Filicudi) have represented an extraordinary field of research for geologists from all over the world.

Without forgetting that ash, lava and all the material erupted over the millennia has contributed decisively to the preservation of many finds from ancient times, transforming the Aeolian Islands into a large open-air archaeological park.

As in the best families, the seven sister islands that make up the Aeolian archipelago also have different characters, attitudes and ambitions. However, they have in common a sea that shines, the volcanic origin, the harsh hinterland fragrant with Mediterranean scrub.

Between fishing villages and pebble beaches, the itinerary that leads from Vulcano to Salina with an obligatory passage to Lipari is based on picturesque corners in which to dive but also on culture, archaeology, good food and views with sunsets that leave you breathless.

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Marina di Portorosa.

Check-in: 11:00 AM

Our trip ends here:

Marina di Portorosa.

Check-out: 8:00 AM

Leg 1

Monday

We meet at the Marina di Portorosa di Furnari (Me) from where we will sail to the Aeolian Islands once the galley and cabins have been arranged. We will head to the island of Vulcano , the closest from the northern coast of Sicily, where we will spend the night in the roadstead.

Leg 2

Tuesday

Visit to the village of Vulcano, for the more daring possibility of making a beautiful trek not very demanding to reach the crater. In the afternoon we headed to the nearby island of Lipari to reach Porto Pignataro and to organize the New Year's Eve party.

Leg 3

Wednesday

Walk through the alleys of the center of Lipari, where there are numerous clubs and souvenir shops. Breakfast with the delicious granita and the characteristic brioche col tuppo. We will reach Marina Corta, certainly one of the most evocative points of the village of Lipari, with its splendid square on the sea and the many restaurants where you can taste excellent local fish and the highly appreciated Aeolian cuisine. In the afternoon we will set sail towards the island of Salina where we will spend the night in the roadstead.

Leg 4

Thursday

Visit to the village of Santa Marina Salina. For the more daring it is possible to organize a trek on Monte Fossa delle Felci: once you reach the summit the panorama that opens up over the entire archipelago is breathtaking. During the day we will return to the Marina di Portorosa , but without first having made a passage between the beautiful stacks of Lipari and the Grotta del Cavallo in Vulcano. Night moored in the Marina di Portorosa for the last toasts with the Skipper.

Leg 5

Friday

Disembarkation by 12:00

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Great stay with Antonino! He is very nice, attentive to us and very accommodating! We visited the islands of Vulcano, Salina and Panarea. The pace was adapted to us: we were able to enjoy the sailboat and the islands on which we hiked and/or walked. The sailboat is very functional, we cooked on board some days. We felt at home and shared good times with Antonino. A great way to travel: we highly recommend!

Our sailing trip experience around the Aeolian Islands with Antonino as captain was unforgettable. Attentive to our needs, he was able to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere despite the limited space of the boat. Antonino is an outstanding sailor, perfectly mastering his sailboat and knowing the waters and sites of the Aeolian Islands. His expertise allowed us to discover magnificent places. A maritime adventure that I highly recommend to all sea and nature lovers.

A fabulous and unforgettable experience! Antonio took us to the right places at the right time. We couldn't have asked for anything more. In addition to being an experienced skipper, he is also a very good chef. We will not soon forget the seafood lunches on the boat. Thank you!
