Sailing and nautical meteorology

A day dedicated to the sea, sailing and its secrets, suitable for everyone, with the opportunity to learn to recognize the signals that the sea and the clouds send us, to read maps and weather models to no longer be unprepared and face the sea with greater safety.

We will sail according to the forecasts, comparing them with what we will really see at sea:

• The actual versus predicted wind field
• The evolution of the daytime breeze and the comparison with the synoptic wind
• The influence of waves and sea, also interpreted thanks to the scales of Beaufort and Douglas
• Clouds as possible signs of changing weather: cumulus, altostratus, cirrus clouds... small clues that tell the life of the sky and the earth's atmosphere for the first 12 km of height!!

• Paces and winds, with practical lessons with involvement and participation in everyone's maneuvers.

Once in the roadstead, we open a bottle of wine, share lunch and look at the horizon with the eyes of observers: how many things has the sea told us today? And the sky?

Departure from Marina di Carrara around 10:30 am on the cetacean route or in the direction of the Gulf of Poets, educational sailing trip with theory and practice along the coast with a lunch/swim stop.
