This experience, in a nutshell

A wonderful holiday to discover the wonders of the Canary Islands, sailing between Tenerife and La Gomera aboard a charming 18-meter ketch.

It will be a cruise of relaxation, nature and discovery, but with a true spirit of adventure: during the experience we will also face ocean cruises of several hours, experiencing the sea and sailing in an authentic way.

It is an experience suitable for many, but not for all: it is perfect for those who want to get out of the routine, experience contact with nature, let themselves be guided by the wind and discover unexpected places and landscapes.

Between sailings, bays, islands to explore and moments of relaxation on board, we will have the opportunity to experience the Canary Islands from a special perspective, away from the rhythms of the classic holiday.

WARNING: On board lives Nao, a wire-haired Jack Russel puppy, very polite and affectionate!

REFIT ANNO 2008 Il KOALA 50 è la barca di serie nata dal mitico 50 piedi CS&RB Busnelli, con cui nel 1973/74 Doi Malingri partecipò alla prima edizione della Whitbread Round The World Race. Il fratello Franco fu il project manager dell’imbarcazione curando la parte ingegneristica e prese parte alla “famigerata” seconda tappa tra Città del Capo e Sidney. Su questa barca si sono scritte tra le più importanti pagine della marineria italiana nonché si sono formati i più grandi skipper contemporanei, il CS & RB naviga ancora ed attualmente si trova nel Sud Pacifico. Acquistata nel 2008 è stata completamente restaurata ed ammodernata, mantenendo però integro il carattere ed il suo temperamento. Dotata di 3 ampie e comode cabine doppie, 2 bagni con doccia con boiler, 4 posti in dinette per un totale omologato di 10 posti letto. Leg 1

Saturday - Welcome aboard!

We meet by boat in the bay of Los Cristianos to start the adventure. After boarding and settling on board, a welcome drink awaits us and, afterwards, dinner on the boat.

Leg 2

Sunday

In the morning we set sail from the bay of Los Cristianos and sail along the south coast of Tenerife, admiring the island from the sea.

The navigation will take us to Los Gigantes, where we will spend the night.

Leg 3

Monday

If the weather and sea conditions allow it, we can make a stop in the bay at the end of the Masca Valley. Compatibly with the availability of places, it will be possible to go ashore and enter the Masca Canyon, a wild and spectacular place, surrounded by nature.

Afterwards, we'll continue sailing to Punta Teno, where we'll spend the night in the shadow of its characteristic lighthouse, in a picturesque setting overlooking the ocean.

Leg 4

Tuesday

In the morning it will be possible to go ashore to visit the Punta Teno Lighthouse and admire the spectacular cliffs overlooking the ocean.

After that, we'll set sail for La Gomera, sailing towards the island. The night will be spent in the roadstead, south of Punta Gabiota.

Leg 5

Wednesday

We'll continue sailing along the coast of La Gomera, heading for San Sebastián de La Gomera, where we'll arrive to spend the night.

Leg 6

Thursday

We'll spend the day exploring San Sebastián, with the option of going ashore to visit the town and soak up its atmosphere.

There will also be the opportunity to take a short trek, easy but very suggestive, to discover the island and its landscapes.

Leg 7

Friday

After saying goodbye to La Gomera, we'll begin sailing back to Tenerife, to the bay of Los Cristianos, where we'll spend the last night on board.

Leg 8

Saturday - Disembarkation

Our adventure ends in Los Cristianos. Disembarkation is expected by 9:00 am.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

This was a really good sailing trip. It was well organized, relaxed, and enjoyable. A special mention goes to Filippo, our skipper. He is not only a highly capable and experienced sailor but also a genuinely kind and welcoming person. He was always happy to listen to everyone’s ideas, adapt the itinerary when possible, and make sure everyone felt comfortable and involved. One of the biggest surprises of the trip was his cooking! Every day he prepared delicious meals and snacks that went far beyond what we expected on a sailing holiday. He is truly an amazing chef, and every meal became another highlight of the experience. We visited beautiful coves and stunning spots around Mallorca, enjoyed great sailing conditions, and shared unforgettable moments together. The atmosphere on board was always friendly, relaxed, and fun. And of course, Noa was the real star of the trip! She won everyone’s heart, and we all had so much fun playing with her throughout the week.

*Return to the helm* A parenthesis of the long-awaited – and missed – summer holidays, in a late October... where everything was perfectly aligned: ☀️ sun, 💨 wind up to 30 knots, unfurled sails and breathtaking destinations, among the most varied shades of sunrises and sunsets. The skipper? What can I say... An excellence in terms of safety, handling and upwind and crosswind. Even at night: impeccable navigation, always under full sail! I left alone, with the courage and the awareness that it would be an experience to be savored to the fullest. To be discovered and then left a trace. And so it was! Mouth-watering lunches and dinners, a wonderful and intense boat holiday, lived following and supporting the wave motion. I was amazed at the sight of dolphins with Es Vedrà in the background... a boat all for me and for my unexpected furry friend, **Nao**, the skipper's affectionate dog: a sweet and ever-present companion, a real **unexpected pet therapy** that made every moment even more special. And then, **back at the helm**... feel the force of the wind in your hands, the thrill of the route, the freedom that only the sea can give! Thank you, Filippo, and thanks also to Nao — it's been a long time since I sailed with the genuine enthusiasm of feeling the wind flow between jib and mainsail...
