This experience, in a nutshell

A dream holiday, unforgettable.
Sailing among the Aeolian Islands is always a special experience, and it will be a pleasure to accompany you on your discovery of this unique archipelago. Sea and sun, but also colours, flavours, scents, art, gastronomy and culture will be the backdrop to your holiday in a succession of ever-changing and unique emotions.

I know these islands very well and will be able to advise you on the most picturesque spots, leaving you the freedom to choose the pace and stops on your trip. We will decide on the itinerary together, based on the wind and your wishes. Those who wish to can try their hand at manoeuvring or learn some sailing basics, or simply relax and enjoy the sun.

All this is accompanied by excellent tastings of the many delicacies that each island has to offer, not to mention delicious lunches on board, which the captain will prepare for guests on request.

Due to our negligence we did not carefully read the Terms and Conditions for cancellation and we discovered only a few days before boarding, due to adverse weather conditions, the impossibility of asking for a refund of the experience. With this review I would like to warn future users that what you are paying for is only the possibility of boarding the boat and not the experience widely advertised by the site with photos and descriptions. Evaluate well before booking and wait until the last minute if possible! However, we decided to get on board staying only one of the 3 nights planned but being closed in the port and below deck due to bad weather made us desist from staying even just one more night. The boat was in a fair state of maintenance and cleanliness but it should be noted that both aft cabins had a strong smell of diesel coming from the nearby engine compartment at the limit of endurance. We cannot comment on anything else given the short stay on board. As for the skipper Paolo, I cannot express any judgment on his ability to steer the boat but I fully agreed with the decision not to leave the port due to the weather and sea conditions. At the level of social interaction, Paolo proved to be detached and rational in the organization of the group without ever involving the participants but demanding to know exactly the details of how we will have reached the port and / or organized the galley. Despite a lively phone call in which we asked the skipper to cancel the departure, the only exception allowed by the Sailsquare Terms and Conditions to obtain a refund, Paolo proved to be intransigent and absolutely opposed to finding any kind of agreement, faithfully applying the regulations of the site certain to be paid even if we never left the port. However, when we got on board, he did not fail to offer us a welcome pizza and croissants the following morning. However, the impression he gave me - in my very personal opinion - is that Paolo has no real interest in the sea and hospitality, but that he does this activity only for profit; proof of this was his indifference to our requests for cancellation and the lack of involvement.

Particular experience. Reluctantly I have to say that the skipper did not accompany us in a suitable way (in my opinion) on this adventure. It was our first experience on a sailing boat (4 friends). On the first and last day we did 8 hours of navigation without a stop diving if not IN PORT (on the outward journey) once we arrived at our destination. On the way back, however, we asked for a break with a negative answer. So another 8 hours without stopping. First and second day we arrived on the islands already in the dark (islands without street lights, darkness and shops closed so no possibility to visit). Second day there was a storm (things happen). The skipper, however, knowing and SEEING us being sick (already from the first day, due to seasickness that no one imagined they could have), could help inexperienced girls and in difficulty and immediately prevent the disastrous situation we suffered (malaise and vomiting), as soon as we saw the black sky in the distance. He did not do and say anything except: "I don't know if he takes us or not". He was the expert person. The storm could not even have arrived but told us to get off immediately as a precaution and prevention. We waited for the storm to pass, feeling very BAD. It could also put us more at ease, for example by setting up the largest table for us to have breakfast or to have lunch comfortably instead of having us keep the dishes on our legs. He has always eaten on his own (except for the last day we all had lunch together). He expressly asked to know the daily menu drawn up before departure and despite this one day he prepared pasta and tuna on his own when the rest of us would have eaten it the next day according to the program. He could force himself to ask us if we all wanted to eat the same thing together. But nothing. In conclusion, positive experience but thanks to us 4 friends.

We have just concluded a wonderful sailing holiday in the Aeolian Islands and I couldn't be more satisfied! Our captain Paolo was truly exceptional: experienced, prudent and always attentive to every detail. Thanks to his professionalism, we always felt safe, even during the most demanding crossings. The boat is well equipped, comfortable and spotless. It was a pleasure to be able to enjoy every comfort on board, Every day was a perfect mix of relaxation, adventure and discovery. The captain recommended itineraries and typical places to visit in the evening and during the day he took us to spectacular places, making various stops of the right duration. We were lucky because the conditions allowed it and the captain made us sail for a stretch under SAIL! We spotted dolphins both on the way there and back. Truly a magical holiday!

Fantastic holiday, clean and well cared for boat. Paolo is a skipper with great knowledge of the area who always knew how to take us to the most beautiful places for swimming, including tips on restaurants and things to see on the islands.
