This experience, in a nutshell

Tour of SOUTH Corsica

snorkeling in the southern fjords, Bonifacio, the Lavezzi reserve and Porto Vecchio

We are a couple in their sixties with a passion for the sea, sailing, snorkeling and some quiet walks. This summer we sail around Corsica, looking for corners of nature that are still intact, away from the hustle and bustle. Every two days we stop in the port: a shower, a walk and maybe a nice restaurant by the sea.

A lot of sea, zero discos.

We are not looking for customers, but travel companions with whom to share this experience. We have only 4 seats on board, in the two berths aft.

Our West Corsica Tour takes place along the wildest coast of the island, largely reachable only by sea. White beaches, red cliffs, breathtaking cliffs and secluded bays await us.

We sail in July, when the wind is more favorable. But if the mistral arrives, you stop at anchor or in port and wait: safety first.

It starts from Ajaccio and arrives in Bastia, the two best connected ports in Corsica, with numerous ferries every day.

And yes, we confess: taking the return ferry is definitely more comfortable than making the crossing by boat again... But don't tell that to pure sailors!

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Ajaccio.

Check-in: 2:00 PM

Our trip ends here:

Bastia.

Check-out: 9:00 AM

Leg 1

Ajaccio

The meeting point is at Port Tino Rossi, easily reachable on foot from the ferry dock. Meeting in the early afternoon, we make a galley together and then set sail towards the Anse de Saint Barbe. Night at anchor in front of Isolella.

Leg 2

Porto Pollo

From the Gulf of Ajaccio we set sail south, skirting a rugged and rocky coast, reaching the Chiavari roadstead, then observing fish and the seabed while snorkeling in Taravu. After Cap Muro we can stop in the Anze d'Orzu and for the night we can anchor in the wide bay of Baia di Cupabia that we meet before Punta De L'Olga and Porto Pollo. In case of mistral no problem, we will prefer the buoy field in Porto Pollo which is more sheltered.

Leg 3

Campomoro

Sail in the Gulf of Valinco, in Propriano and in the Ansa di Portigliolo with its wide beach on a blue and transparent sea, up to Campomoro, with its bay and the ancient bastion.

Leg 4

Boniface

The stretch of coast to the south-west towards Bonifacio is a succession of fjords with wild nature, not very accessible from the internal road and perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

After the tower, in the small roadstead of Roccapina, the rocks have the shape of a lion. Finally, here is the citadel of Bonifacio, beautiful and suggestive. Overnight stay at anchor.

Leg 5

Lavezzi

Leg 8

Pinarello and Solenzara

We cross the fjord of Porto Vecchio again, there is time for a swim in Pinarello, perhaps staying away from the naturist area, then up to the renovated port of Solenzara, where we find excellent restaurants and pizzerias.

Leg 9

Bastia

Disembarkation at the Vieux Port of Bastia, a few minutes walk from the ferry pier: Bastia is connected in a few hours both from Italy (from Genoa, Livorno, Golfo Aranci, Piombino and Savona) and from France (Marseille, Nice, Toulon)

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Cesare and an experienced offshore sailor, with total confidence we experienced an amazing adventure during our nine day trip. He is personable and has a great sense of humor. He is very attentive to the needs of his guests and tries to include them in all the arrivals on the boat. I will gladly join Caesar on a future journey!

Day on a sailing boat between the island of Palmaria and Portovenere in the company of the wise and prepared Cesare. He expertly explained to us the principles of sailing and allowed us to support him in some technical gestures while sailing his brand new boat. Beautiful experience.
