This experience, in a nutshell
A sailing holiday is life in the open air and experiencing the sea in complete freedom!
We will sail near the high cliffs of the "Rilke promenade", in front of the castles of Duino and Miramare. The
places of James Joyce and Italo Svevo to the sea of the magical Istria sung by poets.
A weekend in close contact with the sun, the water and the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
Sailing along this stretch of coast offers the blue of the sky and the blue of the sea, the colorful landscapes of the ancient villages of Venetian origin and all the shades of green of the lush nature.
It's finally time for a dip in the most intense blue!
An unmissable experience to savor the charm of sailing and discover the magic of this area.
Harmony, tales of sea and land and lots of sailing in a fantastic setting!
We will sail to a very special and unique place:
- It starts from the mouth of the Timavo, the mythological river (the origin of the sea, as they used to say in ancient times) which, after an underground journey of about 40km, flows abundantly in S. Giovanni di Duino in a luxuriant natural basin already known in Roman times as Lacus Timavi .... In the mysterious area of the mouth of the Timavo, created by the currents of a river that appears out of nowhere, caves open up believed to be the gates of the Underworld, and waters that restore well-being among fumes and vapours, evoking episodes of heroes and kings in search of lost goods, homeland or new lands...
- We will see from the sea the wonderful Trieste Karst in all its wild beauty. The Škocjan Caves, due to their vastness and richness, were the filming location during the saga "The Lord of the Rings".
We will sail in the waters where, for more than fifty years, on the second Sunday of October, the great sailing festival and the most crowded regatta in the world has taken place, over 2,000 boats at the start, the famous Barcolana in Trieste!
- We will find ourselves in the watershed of three worlds, both from a cultural-historical point of view, and from an environmental point of view for flora and fauna: the Mediterranean/Latin world, the Slavic/Balkan world and the imperial Germanic world. From here, to the east, the Balkans begin and the rocky coast that reaches as far as Greece, while to the west, the long sandy beaches that reach Puglia stretch out!
Do you want to discover more curiosities? I'll be waiting for you on board!
The holiday is also dedicated to those who have no sailing experience!
