CrazySail Academy Lite!

Welcome aboard CrazySail Academy Lite, a one-day course aimed at newly licensed and sailing enthusiastic skippers who are considering trying their hand at the best job in the world for a few summer weeks. ATTENTION: before booking it is essential to contact us via the "Contact the organizer" button on the experience card : after a short telephone conversation, we will provide you with all the instructions to make your reservation with the help of Sailsquare Customer Support.
What is it about?
CrazySail Academy Lite is the little sister of CrazySail Academy. It constitutes a unique and fun opportunity for new skippers to test themselves in a protected and safe environment.

It will also be the opportunity to chat with some of our Skippers and get to know the WindArt Community, an extended family of Staff and Skippers who are protagonists of CrazySail experiences every year. A way to tell you something more about our flotillas and the fabulous group of skippers that has been created.

The course will be held by one of our most experienced skippers and will focus on the management of an unfamiliar crew through exercises of different maneuvers in the field.You will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the real management of a boat: from planning a maneuver , to communication techniques with the crew, up to the execution of the maneuver itself. In addition to the practical side, our instructor will exhibit standard procedures and safety-checks for the assessment and improvement of risk and safety levels.

Targets
The objectives are mainly three:
1. Give a first smattering of practical and theoretical knowledge regarding safe maneuvers and possible unexpected events.
2. Introduce the participants to the correct management of all kinds of crews, from those experienced to those who have never been on a sailboat.
3. Allow attendees to learn about the WindArt family and CrazySail Academy, CrazySail and SailNext experiences. Because it would be nice to have you on board next summer too!

Become a Skipper for CrazySail
For those who were enthusiastic and would like to continue their training path with us, we offer our CrazySail Academies throughout the year, such as the CrazySail Academy: how to Navigate in Flotilla on April 22 , CrazySail Academy: how to Navigate in Flotilla on May 28 or the CrazySail Academy: how to navigate in the Flotilla of 1 June . These are intensive flotilla maneuvering courses with our instructors , at the end of which you have the opportunity to pass a proficiency exam and become a CrazySail Skipper.

Become a Staff for CrazySail
Are you not a skipper but want to participate in creating the unique and artistic events of the CrazySail experience?
We have thought of you too, take a look at the Academy dedicated to the Staff! CrazySail Staff Academy: Create and manage June 1st Flotilla events . These are intensive courses in the management and implementation of events in the flotilla with our professional instructors in the sector , at the end of which you will have the opportunity to pass a proficiency exam and officially become CrazySail Staff.

Where and when?
CrazySail Academy Lite will be held in the Gulf of La Spezia. We will leave in the morning at 9.00 (from the place indicated in the section "Our itinerary") and we will return in the evening around 18.30.

In the event of adverse conditions for safe navigation, we reserve the right to reschedule the Academy and notify you of the new date. It will always be a weekend and we will notify you well in advance.

How many?
The participation fee includes the instructor, the use of the boat and the didactic manual. Travel expenses and packed lunches are not included.

Plan
h 9.00: Arrival in La Spezia, boarding and initial presentation
h 9:30: Notes on safety briefing, unmooring maneuvers and then departure from the port.
10:00 am: Navigation with practice of sailing maneuvers and crew management.
h 13:00: Lunch break.
h 14:00: Practice held at the buoy and the like.
h 16:00: Practice landing on the quay
h 16:30: Navigation with practice of sailing maneuvers and crew management.
h 18:00: Practice landing in the port
h 18:30: Disembarkation and debriefing.
